AMC Theatres to Showcase Women's Baseball Documentary with Dolby in Support of Girls with Game Initiative

See Her Be Her: A Celebration of Women in Baseball

In an exciting collaborative effort, Grassroots Baseball has unveiled its 2025 tour across the United States to showcase the documentary 'See Her Be Her'. This initiative, made possible through a partnership with Dolby Laboratories and AMC Theatres, is aimed at amplifying the voices of women in baseball while supporting the Little League's 'Girls with Game' program.

Launching in February, the tour will cover 12 cities, aligning perfectly with the commencement of the Major League Baseball season. The inaugural screening will take place at the Dolby Laboratories Headquarters in San Francisco on February 22, 2025. Following this, the documentary will make stops in various Dolby Cinema at AMC locations, including major cities such as Austin, Chicago, Miami, Seattle, and Washington, DC throughout the spring and summer months.

Each screening will feature a Q&A session with a panel of women baseball experts, aiming not only to showcase the film but also to engage with the audience on the evolving landscape of women's baseball. Additionally, there will be a book signing for the companion piece titled 'See Her Be Her', with proceeds from ticket and book sales directed towards enhancing opportunities for young girls within the sport through the Girls with Game initiative.

The film chronicles the journeys of seven remarkable female athletes who represent countries like Canada, Puerto Rico, Japan, South Korea, Cuba, Uganda, and, of course, the United States. These players are depicted not just as participants in a sport but as trailblazers, inspiring future generations of women to engage in baseball. The film aims to showcase their ambitions to win on the world stage while also underlining the importance of representation and accessibility in sports.

Jean Fruth, co-founder of Grassroots Baseball and the film's director, expressed her vision: "We created 'See Her Be Her' to provide visibility with the hope of creating more opportunities for girls and women around the world to play the game. We want them to see these athletes and dare to dream big."

Dolby’s and AMC’s commitment to this initiative has been equally heartening. Joan Scott, Senior Director of Social Impact at Dolby Laboratories, stated, "Our mission centers on championing impactful narratives and empowering creatives to share their stories. We are delighted to support the SEE HER BE HER tour and contribute to the conversation around women's empowerment in sports."

Ryan Noonan, Vice President of Corporate Communications at AMC, echoed this sentiment, commenting, "By bringing SEE HER BE HER to audiences, we hope to shine a light on the incredible women who are shaping the future of baseball and inspire the next generation of female athletes."

The SEE HER BE HER Tour is more than just a movie presentation; it serves as a platform to advocate for increased participation and recognition of women in baseball. By partnering with various stakeholders, Grassroots Baseball and its collaborators are paving the way for more inclusive experiences in the sporting world. Through this initiative, it is hoped that countless young girls will feel inspired to take to the field and pursue their dreams.
