Children Immerse Themselves in the 'Dinosaur World' with New VR Experience in Kitakyushu

Introducing the 'VR Dinosaur Rescue Mission'

In a groundbreaking unveiling, APAMAN Inc. opened an innovative VR experience named "VR Dinosaur: Don't Get Caught by the T. rex! Triceratops Rescue Mission" on August 20, 2026. Situated on the 7th floor of the pop culture facility "Aruaru City" in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, this immersive virtual reality adventure transports children back to the Late Cretaceous period.

On the opening day, the company first hosted an exclusive media preview and early experience event, attracting attention from various outlets. During the event, children donned VR goggles and embarked on a thrilling 10-minute mission to protect a baby Triceratops named "Tril" while stealthily navigating through dense prehistoric forests, avoiding a formidable T. rex.

Immersive Experience Designed by Experts

Supervised by prominent paleontologist Akihiko Shibahara, this experience offers more than mere observation; it is a meticulously crafted narrative, complemented by a detailed audio landscape that includes immersive sound effects and vibrations. The voiceover, provided by the talented voice actor Ikue Otani, guides participants through the adventure, ensuring they don't just see the dinosaurs but engage with them actively.

As they explore the lush VR environment, participants can feel the very essence of the Cretaceous period. They walk alongside Tril, searching for his mother, "Mama Maya," all while observing dinosaur footprints and traces. The atmosphere teems with tension as players sense the looming presence of a T. rex, heightening the stakes of their engaging quest.

Collaborative Adventure

The VR experience is designed for small groups of up to four participants, allowing family members and friends to work together. This collaborative aspect enhances the excitement, fostering teamwork as they navigate the prehistoric world and protect Tril.

Special Educational Session with Akihiko Shibahara

During the media unveiling, Akihiko Shibahara spoke about the importance of accurately incorporating fossil records and geological sciences into the VR space. After the immersive experience, he led a special educational session for the children, showcasing his extensive collection of dinosaur-related artifacts and literature. This direct interaction piqued the children's curiosity and connected their VR journey to real-world knowledge about dinosaurs and paleontology.

The Role of Narration in VR

Through Ikue Otani's captivating narration, the experience transforms participants' perception of Tril from just a virtual character to a creature they feel compelled to protect. The storytelling approach allows children to engage in the adventure not merely as spectators but as integral parts of the narrative.
