Huawei Unveils Exclusive Watch Faces Inspired by Venice Biennale's Art and Technology Fusion
Huawei Unveils Exclusive Watch Faces at Venice Biennale
From May 10 to November 23, 2025, the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale will showcase a stunning blend of art and technology, with Huawei playing a pivotal role in this fusion as the Chief Intelligence and Technology Partner of the China Pavilion. By intertwining its innovative devices, such as the HUAWEI Mate X6 and HUAWEI MatePad Pro, with cutting-edge architectural designs, Huawei aims to highlight China’s architectural legacy through smart technologies.
To celebrate this artistic collaboration, the recently released HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 series features three exclusive watch faces inspired by installations showcased during the Biennale. These watch faces imbue daily life with the essence of architectural and artistic aesthetics, providing users with a unique opportunity to experience the confluence of art and technology.
Inspired Designs
1. Dunhuang Con-stella-tion Watch Face
This watch face draws inspiration from the “Dunhuang Con-stella-tion” installation by Atelier Alter Architects. It reflects the historical significance of Dunhuang, serving as a crossroads of various cultures along the Silk Road that birthed new art forms. The intersection of Greek, Persian, Indian, and Chinese architectural elements can be seen vividly, particularly in the four domes of Mogao Cave 285. This installation pays homage to the concept of “civilizational resonance,” presenting Dunhuang as a futuristic floating city embodying the harmonious convergence of different cultures and the ethereal beauty of nebulas.
2. Vault of Heaven Watch Face
Inspired by Wang Zigeng’s “Vault of Heaven” installation, a faculty member from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and founder of PILLS, this watch face reinterprets traditional architectural elements using green protective nets recycled from construction sites in China. The dynamic design integrates intangible cultural heritage through bamboo weaving, creating a mesmerizing visual akin to a phenakistoscope. Representing an ancient “coffered ceiling,” it not only pays tribute to temple architecture’s celestial palaces but weaves a continuous narrative of interconnected moments through the lens of China’s unique philosophy of nature.
3. City in China - Nature of All Things Watch Face
This design is inspired by WAY studio's installation, which envisions a future city where urban architecture seamlessly integrates with the natural environment. By rethinking connections between skyscrapers through advanced transportation systems, this innovative creation significantly reduces energy consumption while emphasizing the organic growth concept seen in living organisms.
Bridging Art, Architecture, and Technology
With these watch faces, Huawei serves as a gateway for the China Pavilion's theme, “CO-EXIST,” seamlessly integrating state-of-the-art products that bridge art, architecture, and wearable technology. This innovative approach further challenges the boundaries of cultural expression.
Users of the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 series can now enjoy these extraordinary watch faces, which elegantly and functionally merge Eastern aesthetics with smart living. Huawei’s commitment to drawing inspiration from global artistic movements and continuously exploring the infinite possibilities within design reflects its vision for an open, diverse, and international perspective.
By leading advancements in technological aesthetics, Huawei aims to provide premium and stylish technology experiences to global consumers while encouraging them to embrace a more personalized lifestyle.
