Zoomlion Enhances Global Localization to Build Sustainable Value in Local Markets
Enhancing Local Markets for Long-term Value: Zoomlion Advances Global Localization
The recent KOMATEK 2026 exhibition has showcased the dynamic progress and innovative focus of Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (1157.HK). Under the theme of "Innovation Serving Value," the company unveiled over 40 advanced products alongside its extensive local sales and service network, receiving a warm response from international clients. Highlights include securing more than one billion RMB (approximately 138 million USD) in new orders, reinforcing Zoomlion’s status as a market leader amid its vigorous international development.
A Focus on Customization and Local Solutions
Zoomlion emphasized its commitment to localization and customization at the event, tailoring its offerings to meet the exacting operational conditions and regulatory frameworks of Turkey and surrounding markets. A standout feature was the ZLK7600V803 articulated boom crane, produced locally at Zoomlion’s facility in Germany. This model integrates a superstructure from WILBERT, Zoomlion’s German subsidiary, and features a locally sourced high-end Scania chassis. Fully CE-certified and compliant with European road transport regulations, this crane beautifully illustrates Zoomlion's “global village mindset,” promoting international industrial collaboration and enhancing market integration.
The close integration of cross-border technological innovation with localized production results from Zoomlion's global production strategy known as "1+N." In this framework, "1" signifies Zoomlion's Smart City in China, the hub for cutting-edge research and primary exporter of foundational technologies and innovative products, while "N" symbolizes a growing network of manufacturing plants and service platforms established overseas in key strategic markets worldwide. Currently, the company operates 13 R&D and production sites abroad, over 30 strategic regional hubs, and more than 400 sales and service points, with products and services available in over 170 countries and regions. This extensive network solidifies Zoomlion's global industrial framework with a strong focus on collaboration.
Turkey: A Strategic Local Market
Turkey stands out as one of Zoomlion’s principal strategic markets, perfectly embodying the company's localization strategy. Since establishing its Istanbul subsidiary in 2018, Zoomlion has grown a robust network comprising 12 full-service agencies and three central warehouses across the country. Recent openings of branches in Denizli (3,500 m²) and Bursa (1,200 m²) have further enhanced Zoomlion's capabilities as a regional hub for sales, technical maintenance, and spare parts. This extensive direct infrastructure creates an end-to-end integrated platform for administrative, warehousing, logistics, and customer service in the region.
Simultaneously, Zoomlion is enhancing localized production capabilities in Europe. The modern intelligent factory in Tatabánya, Hungary, dedicated to elevating platforms, has officially launched Phase I of its operations in 2026. Strategically located along a major logistics axis connecting Eastern and Western Europe, this 250-mu (approximately 16.5 hectares) facility specializes in manufacturing high-quality boom and scissor lifts, significantly improving regional supply chain efficiency and product availability while fostering robust synergies with local industrial ecosystems.
In addition, Zoomlion is undergoing a historic transformation at its primary European production site in Germany. Following its acquisition of tower crane manufacturer WILBERT in 2018, the location has gradually evolved into a versatile industrial hub. In 2025, Zoomlion initiated Phase II of construction for the plant, an investment exceeding 50 million EUR covering over 60,000 square meters. Once fully operational, the expanded factory will produce over 1,000 units annually, including tower cranes, mobile cranes, and concrete machinery. This facility will serve as a comprehensive international production center, essential for Zoomlion’s long-term growth in Europe.
The implementation of the "1+N" strategy brings tangible operational benefits for both Zoomlion and its international customers. Primarily, it significantly enhances delivery efficiency and product adaptability, as proximity to end markets allows quicker responses to regional standards and customer preferences. Additionally, closer coordination among these international sites strengthens the resilience of the supply chain. By integrating resources between its domestic and international facilities, Zoomlion has optimized regional logistics networks, ensuring stable, consistent, and reliable product supplies for international construction equipment markets.
Finally, leveraging a comprehensive end-to-end service network and direct customer engagement, Zoomlion provides thorough maintenance support throughout the product lifecycle. This approach fosters strong commercial trust and establishes a foundation for mutual success with international customers.
From product innovation to intelligent manufacturing, and from local production to direct technical assistance, Zoomlion continues to root itself in local markets by embracing a "global village mindset." Through ongoing technological R&D and local presence, the company hones its products to meet global needs while strengthening international ties. Zoomlion remains committed to fostering open collaboration by leveraging its advanced R&D capabilities, comprehensive manufacturing systems, and professional service networks to work alongside its international clients and partners towards a sustainable future.
