Bakery China 2026 Concludes Successfully



The 28th edition of Bakery China 2026 wrapped up on May 23 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai, solidifying its status as a pivotal global platform for the baking and confectionery sector. This four-day event, organized by the China Association of Bakery Confectionery Industry and Bakery China Exhibitions Co., Ltd., was themed "Innovate Beyond • Premiere Fusion • Link Future".

With a sprawling area exceeding 330,000 square meters, the show featured 2,267 brands and businesses from 79 countries and regions, showcasing over 10,000 products. Nearly 400,000 professional visitors from 144 countries attended, highlighting the event's significance and reach.

According to Zhang Jiukui, President of the Chinese Association of Bakery and Confectionery Industry, "Bakery China will continue to foster high-quality development in the baking industry, supporting business connections, insights into trends, resource consolidation, enhancement of professional skills, brand awareness, and global exchange."

Strengthening Global Connections



Bakery China 2026 further enhanced its international profile, with over 20% of exhibitors representing foreign companies and brands, including those from Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, the USA, and South Korea. The "Belt and Road Bakery Theme Zone" showcased ingredients and techniques from countries participating in the initiative, featuring highlights such as "Chinese Flavors in Western Pastries" and "Western Techniques in Traditional Chinese Bakery". The number of international buyers increased by over 60%, reflecting the growing appeal of the Chinese baking industry on the global market.

Support for Chinese Brands Going Global



For the first time, Bakery China hosted a "Going Global" forum, addressing critical topics such as international compliance certification, Halal certification, adaptation to local supply chains, building overseas distribution channels, and intercultural brand communication. This initiative provided actionable insights for Chinese bakery companies looking to expand internationally, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of global trade.

Presentation of Industry Innovations



Thousands of new products and technologies were unveiled at the event, with the "Bakery China Innovation Award" recognizing 136 products from 122 companies across ingredients, equipment, and packaging. The "New Product Launch Week" further cemented the exhibition’s role as an innovation barometer within the industry.

Chocolate and Smart Manufacturing Take Center Stage



Bakery China 2026 also made headlines by launching the Chocolate China 2026 event, a specialized fair for the chocolate industry covering an area of 30,000 square meters, featuring over 150 international cocoa and chocolate companies. The event highlighted major trends in smart manufacturing, healthy eating, and clean labeling, showcasing fully automated baking production lines supported by AI technology and AI-powered image processing systems for quality control. These innovations signal the industry's shift towards automation, traceability, and enhanced efficiency.

"Bakery China is a worldwide leading bakery exhibition and an excellent platform to identify industry trends, find inspiration, and source products," remarked Cai Yi Cheng, President of the Malaysian Bakery and Confectionery Association.

Looking ahead, the organizers of Bakery China will present the inaugural Bakery ASEAN event in Jakarta, Indonesia, from August 27 to 29. Additionally, the 11th Bakery China Autumn and the 9th China Home Baking Show will take place from October 22 to 24 at the Wuhan International Expo Center.
