Resorts World Closes Summer with Laughter: A Memorable Labor Day Weekend Featuring Major Comedians

Resorts World Says Goodbye to Summer with Laughter and Joy

As summer bids farewell, Resorts World has closed out the season in style with a sold-out Labor Day weekend across its two prominent New York properties. The highlight of the event was an incredible lineup of comedy featuring well-known names such as Tracy Morgan, Chris Distefano, and Deon Cole. This weekend not only marked a significant milestone for Resorts World New York City but also set the stage for upcoming entertainment throughout the fall and into 2027.

A Weekend of Headlining Comedians

In Queens, Distefano took center stage, delivering comedic gold in his hometown. Meanwhile, Morgan captivated audiences by performing at both Resorts World Catskills and Resorts World New York City across the weekend. Deon Cole rounded off the comedic experiences at Catskills as the grand finale of the weekend's festival. The ambiance was further elevated with vibrant fireworks, live music, local food trucks, and eager fans enjoying three days of engaging entertainment.

Exclusive Dining Experiences

The celebration was more than just stand-up comedy. For the food enthusiasts, Resorts World New York City partnered with some of the most prestigious restaurants in the city for a private dining series. The event was hosted by the legendary hip-hop artist Nas, adding to the weekend's excitement. Each night featured different top-tier restaurants:
  • - Friday, September 4: Tatiana by Kwame Onwuachi, described as a love letter to New York’s diverse culinary scene, offering a mix of Caribbean, African, and Black American influences.
  • - Saturday, September 5: Don Angie, recognized for its revolutionary Italian-American dishes, including the famous pinwheel lasagna and more, consistently ranks as one of New York’s hardest tables to land.
  • - Sunday, September 6: Coqodaq, a buzzy restaurant renowned for combining Korean fried chicken with Champagne and caviar, created an electrifying dining atmosphere.

Pulsating energy characterized Saturday night with the guest-list-only party at 3Q, featuring performances by Remy Ma and Fabolous, alongside DJs DJ Clue and DJ Webstar.

An Exciting Future Ahead

Kevin Jones, the President of Genting Americas East, shared his enthusiasm for the weekend, stating, "When we opened the first live table games New York City has ever had in April, we said it was the start of something bigger. This weekend showed what that means." Notably, the weekend served as a tantalizing preview of the headliner entertainment to come as the venues continue to evolve.

Adding to the excitement is the expansion project at Resorts World New York City. The venue is already on the map for leisure lovers, having opened 242 live table games and over 2,500 commercial casino slots earlier this year. Just months after the grand opening, construction began on Phase 2 of a massive $5.5 billion investment, promising additional hotel accommodations, a sports and media complex, and a multipurpose arena, significantly enhancing the guest experience.

The entire expansion is set to generate approximately 10,000 jobs, which includes around 5,000 union construction positions.
