Natural Grocers® Announces the Closure of Arbor Walk Store in Austin, Texas, Scheduled for October 2025

Natural Grocers® Announces Closure of Arbor Walk Store

In a recent announcement that has elicited reactions from the local community, Natural Grocers® has confirmed the closure of its Arbor Walk store located at 10515 N. MoPac Expressway in Austin, Texas. The store will officially close its doors on October 2, 2025. Customers can take advantage of storewide closing sales starting from September 2, 2025, with discounts of 25% on all items, including body care products, beauty items, dairy, meat, produce, and supplements. It is important to note that all sales will be final during this period.

Natural Grocers received positive responses from the community since its first store opened in Austin in 2009 and has since expanded to multiple locations in the area. The Arbor Walk location, which has been operational since 2010, served as the company’s second store in Austin, complementing a portfolio of four stores in the Austin region and a total of 25 across Texas. This closure results from unsuccessful negotiations regarding a lease renewal. Despite the loss of this particular store, all remaining Natural Grocers locations in the Austin area will continue to operate, ensuring that customers still have access to their favorite health-focused grocery options.

Kemper Isely, co-president of Natural Grocers, expressed the sentiment surrounding this closure. He said, “Austin has always held a special place in our story. From the day we opened our first Austin-area store in 2009, we have felt embraced by a community that values health, individuality, and creativity—values that resonate deeply with who we are as a company.” He continued to explain that while the closure of the Arbor Walk location is disappointing, it allows the company to focus on strengthening its presence in other locations throughout Austin.

With this closure, Natural Grocers confirms its ongoing commitment to supporting its employees during this transition. The company is actively working with its valued good4uSM Crew members to provide assistance. Options will include identifying transfer opportunities at nearby stores or offering severance packages and continuation of health benefits to support affected employees.

For customers of the Arbor Walk location, other Natural Grocers sites nearby remain available. These include locations in Cedar Park, Georgetown, North Lamar Boulevard in Austin, Temple, and Waco, ensuring that residents still have alternative shopping options to continue their support of Natural Grocers.
