Introduction to Zerova's MCS Dispenser
Zerova, a prominent innovator in electric vehicle charging technology, has unveiled its latest creation, the
MCS Dispenser, during the IAA Transportation 2026 event held in Hanover, Germany. This state-of-the-art
DC charging solution is specifically designed to meet the growing demands of electrifying heavy-duty trucks and buses, catering to the needs of European fleet operators who are making a significant shift towards megawatt-capable charging for long-haul and depot operations.
The Features of MCS Dispenser
The MCS Dispenser is built on the robust foundation of Zerova’s established
DO360 and
DZ480 power cabinet architecture. This cutting-edge charging unit offers an impressive 1,440 kW output and a current of 1,500A, making it highly suitable for the robust requirements of commercial fleets. It operates across a wide voltage range of
150–950Vdc for the DO360 variant and
200–950Vdc for the DZ480 variant, facilitating a versatile charging experience for a variety of electric vehicles.
Designed for Flexibility and Scalability
This dispenser isn't just a product; it's a comprehensive charging solution designed to grow alongside the
CharIN Megawatt Charging System (MCS) standard as it becomes widely adopted across Europe. This was propelled further by the recent release of the
IEC TS 63379 connector specification, which solidifies the foundation for megawatt charging.
Engineering Excellence for Fleets
The MCS Dispenser's engineering targets the unique requirements of commercial fleets. It features a liquid-cooled cable available in
5m or 7m lengths, compatible with both the MCS and
CCS2 connectors. Moreover, the user interface includes a 10.4-inch touchscreen rated at
IK8 for durability and easy operation, while it supports multiple user authentication methods, including
RFID,
QR code,
Plug & Charge, and even credit card transactions through integrated payment terminals.
The system is compliant with
OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1, ensuring seamless interaction with charge point operator backend systems, fulfilling the essential need for interoperability. Additionally, it adheres to
CE regulations—including
IEC 61851-1 and
IEC 61851-23—setting a high standard for deployment within the EU and EEA.
Market Demand for Electrified Charging Solutions
As electrification rapidly accelerates in the transport sector, heavy-duty vehicles are increasingly viewed as crucial players. European truck manufacturers and charge point operators are competing to establish megawatt-capable corridors along critical logistics routes. The MCS Dispenser strategically positions Zerova to contribute significantly to this electrification shift. With vast experience already in deploying DC charging solutions across UK and European bus and coach operations, Zerova is now expanding its focus into the megawatt segment tailored for trucks and long-haul coaches.
Judy Hung, the Business Operations Director at Zerova, noted, "European fleet operators demand infrastructure that matches the rapid pace of electric truck and bus integration. Our MCS dispenser embodies Zerova's expertise in DC charging, aimed at a scalable and future-ready solution for fleet operators."
Brian Huang, Managing Director UK, highlighted the significance of this launch: "This reflects the direction in which the market is heading. Fleet and depot operators throughout Europe are requesting megawatt-class charging solutions that can be implemented today with an eye on future expansion. Our MCS dispenser meets that need perfectly."
Exploring the Future at IAA Transportation 2026
Zerova will prominently display the MCS Dispenser alongside an entire range of DC charging solutions at their booth
C20, Hall 13, during the IAA Transportation 2026 event from
September 15-20. Attendees will have the opportunity to observe the advanced MCS Megawatt Dispenser and engage with the Zerova team regarding the upcoming deployments across Europe.
