Puck's 'Recipe for Change': A Culinary Initiative for Ramadan Empowering Lebanese Women

Puck's 'Recipe for Change' Initiative

Puck has launched a remarkable initiative this Ramadan, branded as 'Recipe for Change', aiming to empower Lebanese women while celebrating the rich culinary heritage of Lebanon. In response to the ongoing challenges faced by many in Lebanon, particularly women and children displaced by conflict, this initiative shines a light on the power of food as a means of support and change.

In collaboration with Dubai Cares and acclaimed food critic Anthony Rahayel, Puck is introducing six authentic dishes prepared by talented Lebanese mothers. Available in some of the top Lebanese restaurants throughout the UAE and KSA, these dishes not only celebrate the flavors of Lebanon but also serve a deeper purpose. From March 1 to March 31, patrons can enjoy these comforting meals while contributing to a noble cause. With 50% of the sales from each dish sold in the UAE being donated to support Lebanese families affected by recent hardships, each meal becomes a symbol of hope and community support.

The six featured dishes include Zenkol, Mouhalibiya, Macaroni bi Crème, Spinach and Cheese Fatayer, Kebbet Batata with Cheese, and Cheese Maamoul. Each recipe is steeped in cultural significance and lovingly contributed by Ibtihaj, Fidaa, Viviane, Nada, Amani, and Feryal—women who embody the resilience and culinary heritage of Lebanon. By enabling these women to share their recipes, Puck not only honors their skills but also empowers them to contribute economically to their communities.

Through this initiative, Puck reiterates its commitment to championing women’s well-being and championing meaningful change in society. As the struggle continues in Lebanon, Puck aims to provide a strong platform for these women by ensuring their voices and culinary contributions are celebrated. According to Mahitab Hamed, Marketing Vice President at Arla Foods, “Recipe for Change is a testament to our mission of uplifting communities and honoring the culinary traditions of remarkable Lebanese mothers.”

As guests partake in Iftar, Suhoor, or any meal at participating restaurants—including Abdul Wahab, Al Safadi, Kaak Al Manara, Manarit Beirut, Habib Beirut, Mosaic, and Karam Beirut—they are directly impacting the lives of those in need. It is a heartening reminder that every order contributes to rebuilding and empowering the Lebanese community.

Puck’s partnership extends beyond just the UAE. By working with Awani Restaurant in KSA, the initiative aims to ensure that these traditional meals—and the stories behind them—reach an even broader audience. As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Puck invites everyone to partake in this unique initiative, reinforcing the belief that every shared meal can act as a force for change.

In the spirit of Ramadan, let us come together to support each other, savor the authentic tastes of Lebanon, and drive forward initiatives that uplift those around us. Each dish ordered during this special month is not merely a meal but a nourishing act of kindness aimed at sustaining families and helping to pave the way for a brighter future in Lebanon.
