Experience Local Flavors at the Wakudokai Negi Festival on February 7th

Join the Wakudokai Negi Festival!

On February 7th, from 10 AM to 1 PM, the Palsystem Saitama will host the "Wakudokai Negi Festival" at the Wakudokai farm in Fukaya City, Saitama. This event celebrates local produce and offers an opportunity for the community to connect with the producers. Approximately 85 participants, including families of users, producers from Wakudokai, and Palsystem officials, will gather to delve into the experience of growing, harvesting, and tasting fresh negi (Japanese long onions).

A Taste of Local Farming

The festival opens with an engaging activity where attendees can pick their own vegetables, including negi and carrots, directly from the field. After harvesting, the highlight of the event is the delicious experience of having the negi char-grilled over an open flame, enhancing the natural sweetness that Fukaya negi is famous for.

Additionally, participants will engage in fun challenges such as packing negi into bags based on weight and trying their luck with quizzes related to negi and farming. Those who excel in these challenges will receive unique local products only available through Palsystem Saitama, such as the specially curated "Wakuwaku BOX" filled with seasonal vegetables and "Negi Street Fukaya Negi Oil," created through a meticulous low-heat cooking process that draws out rich flavors from negi, garlic, and ginger.

Community Engagement and Delicious Meals

Lunch will consist of a warm miso soup filled with fresh ingredients from Wakudokai, providing a perfect setting for participants to engage in conversations with farmers and fellow attendees. This intimate gathering fosters a sense of community and promotes the importance of consuming locally sourced products.
