Koyuki Immerses Herself in a Unique Beauty Experience in Kyoto
Actress Koyuki recently visited the newly unveiled flagship store, CHEF de BEAUTÉ Kyoto, aimed at providing an immersive sensory experience related to skincare. As the brand's ambassador, Koyuki participated in an event that emphasizes the importance of self-reflection and engaging one’s senses. This innovative store opened its doors to the public on April 29th and offers a tranquil space that invites visitors to disconnect from everyday noise and reconnect with their inner selves.
Retreating into Tranquility
Upon stepping through the door, the bustling sounds of Nishiki Market faded away, replaced by soft lighting and an ambiance of serenity. CHEF de BEAUTÉ Kyoto also seeks to define beauty from within, encouraging visitors to experience its philosophy, 'hadakiki,' or ‘asking the skin,’ through all five senses. The environment is designed to elevate personal reflection and sensory engagement.
A Unique Hand Cream Customization Experience
During her visit, Koyuki engaged in a hand cream customization experience, focusing on her most sensitive body part — her hands. This unique activity featured three textured samples presented on traditional Kyoto pottery, Kiyomizu-yaki. She tested each one, steering away from trends and specifications, relying instead on gut feeling and personal affinity. Selecting the velvety texture led to a noticeable relaxation in her expression as she applied it, showcasing the power of choosing based on personal connection.
Next, she selected scents associated with pleasant memories, reflecting on which aromas resonated with her current state of mind. “Which scent links up with my present view?” was a guiding question in her journey of olfactory exploration. As she inhaled gradually, it felt as if her mind and body were harmonizing beautifully.
"This scent is incredibly relaxing. The act of choosing is itself enjoyable,” she expressed enthusiastically. The jar for her final cream was inspired by Kyoto’s roasted tea colors, making each use a reminder of the calming scenes she had encountered that day.
Koyuki remarked, “Having this time to nurture oneself and face who you really are contributes to a deeper sense of beauty.” The hand cream customization experience proved to be a moment of introspection as Koyuki unearthed the essence of true beauty.
A New Experience Available to All
The hand cream customization experience that Koyuki enjoyed is now open to the public at CHEF de BEAUTÉ Kyoto, available at the inaugural price of ¥2,420 (including tax) until the end of May 2026. Visitors are invited to step away from their hectic lives and embrace a moment of tranquility, finding small comforts that they can incorporate into their daily skincare routines.
