Ultimate Life's New Venture into Used Game Sales
Ultimate Life, headquartered in Osaka, has announced an exciting new chapter for its Game Kingdom brand. Starting October 1, 2025, the Game Kingdom Akashi Store, located in Akashi City, Hyogo, will expand its offerings by launching a used game sales service. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance support for individuals involved in employment assistance programs, particularly through their partnership with Fromjob Inc.
Since 2016, Ultimate Life has been dedicated to buying used games under the Game Kingdom name. Initially, this service was mainly online, allowing customers to sell games via a straightforward delivery process. However, in a strategic move to bridge the gap between virtual and physical gaming sales, the company opened the Game Kingdom Ishioka Store in December 2024, marking their foray into in-person buying operations in collaboration with Fromjob.
The Akashi Store opened its doors in July 2025, providing a platform for individuals with disabilities to actively engage in retail operations. Until now, the store focused on purchasing games with the intention to sell them exclusively online. As customer feedback began to suggest a desire for physical sales, the store recognized a significant opportunity to enhance the retail experience for gaming enthusiasts.
To address these requests, the Akashi Store will implement the sales service following a successful pilot program at the Ishioka location. This trial encouraged the employment support users to apply their expertise and learn new skills in a retail setting, facilitating their growth and impact in the workforce.
One of the distinctive features of Game Kingdom's operations is its ability to purchase a diverse range of games from all over Japan, both online and offline. At the Akashi Store, customers can expect to find rare items, such as retro games that are less likely to be available in local shops. Additionally, the store plans to offer a selection of products priced under 500 yen, ensuring accessibility and affordability for all gaming fans.
Ultimate Life aims to broaden its in-store services, further enhancing the gaming experience for customers and providing a robust environment for individuals seeking employment support. In doing so, they contribute to the well-being of the gaming community while empowering those with disabilities to thrive in a supportive workplace.
