Thermos Excite Match: Engaging Eco-Friendly Initiatives at the Football Event

Thermos Excite Match: A Sustainable Celebration of Football

On July 5, 2025, Thermos Co., Ltd., a global leader in vacuum insulated products headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, successfully hosted the 'THERMOS Excite Match' at Uvance Todoroki Stadium by Fujitsu in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The event coincided with a thrilling match between Kawasaki Frontale and Kashima Antlers, and highlighted Thermos’ commitment to promoting environmentally friendly lifestyles.

A Green Initiative for Fans

The Thermos booth played a pivotal role during the event, where fans were encouraged to bring their own bottles to engage in multiple eco-conscious activities. Approximately 1,600 participants contributed to this sustainable effort, which emphasized the importance of reducing plastic waste and promoting recyclable materials.

Key Initiatives at the Event:

1. Lucky Draw for Participants with Reusable Bottles: Fans who brought their own bottles were treated to a special lottery for a chance to win exclusive items signed by players. This initiative encouraged attendees to embrace a more sustainable lifestyle by choosing reusable containers over single-use plastics.

2. Collection of Used Stainless Steel Bottles: In a groundbreaking recycling effort, Thermos collected about 52 kg of used stainless steel bottles, equivalent to approximately 250 JNL series 0.5L bottles. This endeavor was part of Thermos’ larger mission to promote the recycling of materials and reduce environmental footprints.

3. Customizable Bottle Workshop: A highlight for many attendees was the 'My Bottle Customization Workshop' where participants, especially kids, could express their creativity by designing stickers for their bottles. This interactive experience helped create personalized bottles, fostering ownership and dedication to using them consistently.

4. Online Lottery for Anniversary Celebration: To celebrate the 101st anniversary of Kawasaki City, Thermos held an online lottery giving away 101 of their vacuum insulated bottles, enhancing the festive atmosphere around the event.

Details of the Draw and Collection Services

At the Thermos booth, fans who participated in a brief survey and brought their own reusable bottles were entered into the lucky draw to win fabulous prizes, including signed merchandise from their favorite players. The initiative was a success, with robust participation demonstrating fan commitment to sustainability.

The collection service aimed at recycling used stainless steel bottles not only redirected materials for reuse but also rewarded environmentally conscious fans with exclusive trading cards of Kawasaki Frontale players and discounts for online purchases of Thermos products.

Partnership with Kawasaki Frontale

In collaboration with Kawasaki Frontale, Thermos entered a partnership agreement in 2022, becoming an official partner the following year. This partnership has facilitated numerous initiatives in the home stadium, including naming rights for seating areas and other interactive experiences involving Thermos products. Starting in 2024, Thermos plans to support local child feeding networks, enhancing community involvement and contributing cooking tools to help improve efficiency in local kitchens.

A Legacy of Innovation

Founded in 1904 in Germany, Thermos introduced the world’s first glass vacuum bottle and subsequently created the first high vacuum stainless steel bottle in 1978, making it a leader in the field. With a presence in over 120 countries, Thermos continues to innovate and inspire sustainable practices through its wide range of products, including insulated bottles, tumblers, soup jars, and cookware.

Thermos is committed to enhancing comfort and promoting eco-friendly lifestyles through advanced insulation technology and creativity. Their objectives not only focus on product quality but also emphasize the importance of a sustainable future for society and the environment.
