RAGTAG Expands Globally with Its First International Store
On July 16, 2025, the Japanese used designer select shop, RAGTAG, opened its doors to its first overseas branch located within
One Bangkok, a massive commercial complex in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. This strategic move marks an important step in RAGTAG's plans for global expansion, capitalizing on the growth potential of the secondary market. The store has been established through a joint venture between WORLD Group and SAHA Group, known as
WORLD SAHA (THAILAND) CO., LTD., which aims to solidify RAGTAG's presence in Thailand and the broader ASEAN market while quickly adapting to local market needs.
The new RAGTAG store occupies a spacious 50 tsubo on the second floor of
The Storeys, a retail area within One Bangkok that features a variety of apparel and goods. With over 24 stores operating domestically in Japan, RAGTAG is renowned for its ability to curate over 5,000 high-quality designer items, appealing to fashion-savvy individuals who appreciate the shop's unique business model and customer service.
To ensure a smooth rollout in Thailand's secondary market, WORLD has dispatched management personnel to train local staff in retail operations and sales techniques. Leveraging the logistics network of the SAHA Group, RAGTAG is enhancing inventory management, particularly for luxury items, to provide a well-rounded product selection. The store's interior design has been crafted by
Asplund, a prominent firm within the WORLD Group known for creating stylish spaces for commercial facilities and luxury hotels, ensuring a chic, open atmosphere for shoppers.
In addition to its physical location, RAGTAG is also launching an e-commerce platform in Thailand, further integrating the online and offline shopping experience. With features like in-store reservations, which have proven popular in Japan, and strategies targeting tourists in the bustling city of Bangkok, RAGTAG aims to widen its reach through owned media and various marketing channels. A pop-up event held last spring yielded valuable insights into local consumer preferences regarding popular brands, sizes, and price ranges. Moving forward, RAGTAG plans to establish a solid business foundation not only in Thailand but across rapidly developing ASEAN markets.
The thoughtfully designed store layout by Asplund allows for a seamless shopping experience, making it easy for customers to browse through a diverse selection of products categorized for optimal shopping enjoyment.
