Matt MacDonald Takes Leadership Role at Prevent Blindness
On November 14, 2025, Prevent Blindness, the foremost organization dedicated to eye health and blindness prevention in the United States, appointed Matt MacDonald, the President and Global Head of Managed Care at EyeMed Vision Care, as the new Chair of its Board of Directors. This appointment was announced during the annual meeting held in Chicago, marking a significant transition in leadership for the organization.
MacDonald steps into this leadership role succeeding Jim McGrann, the CEO of Advancing Eyecare, who has been honored with the title of Emeritus Member on the Board. Archer, former CEO of UnitedHealthcare Vision; Paul Delatore, Global Head of Market Access at Alcon; and Dr. Cadmus Rich, Principal Consultant at ClearSight LLC and Chief Medical Officer of Visara. These new appointments are expected to inject fresh perspectives and expertise into the Board, aligning with Prevent Blindness’s mission to combat preventable blindness and enhance sight preservation initiatives.
As stated by Jeff Todd, the President and CEO of Prevent Blindness, “As we enter 2026, I am thrilled to embrace this distinguished roster of leaders who will guide us in expanding access to eye care, support educational initiatives to save sight, and help evolve our mission as the nation’s trusted partner in eye health.”
