The youthful spirits across Japan are ready to leap into action as the much-anticipated
Mynavi High School Dance Competition 2026 Final takes center stage on
April 18, 2026, at
Ryogoku Kokugikan in
Sumida, Tokyo. Hosted by
Anomaly Inc., this event aims to crown the ultimate high school dance club, showcasing the electrifying talent of students dedicated to their craft.
Expanding Horizons of Talent
This year’s event marks a significant expansion from last year's preliminary rounds, welcoming not just high school dance clubs but also an array of distinguished dancers from the industry. These invited artists are sure to elevate the competition's level of excitement, providing inspiration and admiration along the way.
Special Appearances by Dance Icons
The event will feature remarkable performances from two standout groups from
LDH that have been taking the dance world by storm.
THE JET BOY BANGERZ
Emerging from one of
LDH's largest auditions,
iCON Z, with over 48,000 participants, the
10-member group has made waves since their debut on
August 23, 2023, with the single
“Jettin’”. The name embodies the essence of their vibrant personalities converging like a roaring jet engine. Each dancer boasts a professional background, actively competing in the
D.LEAGUE, the top league for dance performances in Japan. With a blend of proficiency and charisma, this group has captured incredible attention, with their first EP,
“PHOTOGENIC”, hitting
No.1 on the Oricon weekly album chart. Their latest TV project, a drama titled
“DARK13: Dancing Zombie School”, is currently airing on
ABC.
CIRRA
On the other hand,
CIRRA, a
10-member girl group, is spearheaded by former
E-girls leader
Harumi Sato. This group emerged from the sensational audition show
“GIRLS BATTLE AUDITION” aired on
Nippon Television, drawing attention with their electrifying talents. The name
CIRRA, which combines
CYCLE and
ERA, reflects their emblematic motto:
“The circle of connection can change the era.” They embody strength in togetherness and aim to usher in a promising new era.
About the Mynavi High School Dance Competition
The
Mynavi High School Dance Competition caters to students enrolled in high schools across Japan, marking its 11th installment this year since its inauguration in
2015. Preliminary qualifiers will take place in five regions:
Kanto, Kansai, Tohoku, Chubu, and
Kyushu. Advancing schools will compete at the
Grand Final held in
April 2026. The event prides itself on showcasing the utmost dedication and passion of students who devote their high school years to dance.
This season introduces additional slots for awarding points, broadening the opportunity for recognition. Following the preliminary rounds, a
Final Challenge will determine which teams move forward to the finals based on the point rankings.
