Geely Farizon Unveils Intelligent Eco-Friendly Mobility at Hong Kong Expo 2026

On June 18, 2026, the International Automotive and Supply Chain Expo officially commenced at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. This year's event saw Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group making its second consecutive appearance, showcasing a comprehensive portfolio rooted in its strategic vision of "methanol-electric drive + pure electric drive". The exhibited products span a wide array of applications including public transport, urban logistics, autonomous vehicles, ferries, and emergency power generation.

At the forefront of the showcase was a complete green mobility ecosystem that integrates transportation and energy solutions, designed to support Hong Kong's ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Among the highlights were the methanol-based REV (Range Extended Vehicle) models, including the REV SV, the Homtruck, and light-duty trucks, alongside electric double-decker buses specially modified for Hong Kong.

One of the notable attractions was the custom-designed double-decker bus, making its debut in Hong Kong. Both its exterior and interior have been tailored for local public transport and sightseeing tours, positioning it as a new symbol of urban mobility. This methanol bus, the U12M, has received an exemption from emission limits from the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department, allowing it to enter commercial operation in August. This demonstrates Geely Farizon's commitment to meeting stringent local environmental regulations, paving the way for global adoption of methanol technology.

On the very first day of the expo, Geely Holding Group organized an event titled "Green City, Smart City – Introduction to the Geely Intelligent Green Mobility Ecosystem". During this event, Geely Farizon established a strategic partnership with CaoCao, aiming to introduce 100,000 units of Farizon Robovan vehicles by 2030, fostering the creation of eco-friendly smart cities. Under the “One Geely” strategy, both parties will collaborate in research and development, production, operations, and ecosystem resources to expedite the mass production of Robovan vehicles and establish an AI-based intelligent logistics network.

As an international metropolis, Hong Kong has actively set the target to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. However, the city's high population density, limited land area, and energy resource constraints hinder the development of infrastructure such as charging stations. Hence, Hong Kong's transition to eco-friendly transportation must align with local realities and be commercially viable.

Geely Farizon's technological strategy, combining methanol-electric and purely electric drives built on years of practical experience in the Hong Kong market, closely matches the preferences and developmental needs of the urban environment in Hong Kong.

Positioned as a leading brand in new energy commercial vehicles, Geely Farizon has established a global sales and service network spanning 64 countries and regions. In the first quarter of 2026, the company secured the top position in the Chinese new energy commercial vehicle export sector. Hong Kong, a key market for Geely Farizon, features the broadest product lineup, with various new energy vehicles already operating across different sectors.

One example is the Farizon SV model, which has delivered units to the Big Bee taxi service in Hong Kong. With advantages like zero emissions, low noise, high performance, and spacious interiors, the vehicle has received enthusiastic feedback from both drivers and passengers.

Looking ahead, Geely Farizon aims to deploy its comprehensive green intelligent mobility ecosystem to support Hong Kong in achieving its carbon neutrality goal by 2050, ranging from methanol-powered ferries operating across Victoria Harbour to Farizon SV taxis on the city's streets and methanol-electric public transport buses. Furthermore, the successful Hong Kong model is expected to be exported globally, thereby ensuring the worldwide expansion of innovation in China's new energy sector.
