TOCT Jewelry Brand Hosts First Pop-Up Event 'Hatsutsugi'
On September 6th and 7th, 2025, the innovative jewelry brand TOCT will hold its very first pop-up event, titled 'Hatsutsugi', at Matsubaya Tea House in Omotesando, Tokyo. Launched just a few months prior, TOCT draws inspiration from the traditional Japanese art of Kintsugi, which artfully repairs broken pottery with gold, celebrating the beauty found in imperfections.
The pop-up's theme, 'Hatsutsugi' or 'Initial Continuation', conveys a sentiment of greeting and connection. The event will showcase jewelry that embodies timeless craftsmanship harmonized with modern minimalism. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to engage with the pieces directly, appreciating the touch of Kintsugi and the overall wearing experience of each creation.
TOCT’s philosophy revolves around transforming flaws into beauty. By leaving broken areas visible and mending them with gold, the brand reinterprets Kintsugi, allowing the imperfections to become part of the piece's narrative. This reflects a deeper cultural ethos that encourages embracing our scars rather than concealing them.
During the event, attendees can view and purchase all 18 types of jewelry on offer, including four exclusive new designs available only during the pop-up at special prices. This provides both collectors and new enthusiasts a chance to explore TOCT's distinctive offerings.
No reservations are needed to attend the pop-up, which welcomes everyone, making it accessible to all lovers of art and jewelry. The event promises not only a delightful shopping experience but also an appreciation of the intersection between traditional Japanese art and contemporary design.
