Author Mike Mountz Explores His Spiritual Journey in New Book
From Struggle to Spiritual Clarity: Mike Mountz's Journey of Faith
Author Mike Mountz takes readers on an introspective adventure in his latest book, "FAITH: Experiencing God's Grace and Love." The memoir shines a light on his personal experiences and spiritual reflections, inviting readers to witness how ordinary life events can lead to profound revelations of faith. Co-written alongside Bob Ruhe, Mountz delineates the subtle yet significant moments that have progressively shaped his understanding of divine guidance.
Mountz was not raised in a religious environment. Despite this, he recalls formative experiences in his life that began shaping his perceptions of faith — from feeling a unique attraction towards religious symbols, such as the cross, to surviving life-threatening hazardous situations that later emerged in his reflections as pivotal moments of divine intervention. His narrative captures a variety of formative encounters, spanning from challenging business decisions to his emotional relationships, along with the moral dilemmas he faced in professional and personal realms.
At the heart of Mountz's narrative is a unique metaphor referred to as the "spiritual compass." This term denotes an intrinsic sense of direction which supports individuals in discerning ethical choices and facilitating a sense of purpose. Mountz's journey has not been without missteps; he candidly illustrates how he has often lost and subsequently sought to reset this compass through his experiences, particularly following personal failures.
In his own words, "This book is about my spiritual experiences and the impact they have had on my life. Faith works in partnership with personal effort, not as a substitute for it. I hope people will open their hearts and minds to the possibility of God's grace and see that it can be present in their lives as well."
Mountz's narrative resonates with authenticity because it embraces the imperfections inherent in the human experience. Rather than showcasing an immaculate spiritual journey free of doubt and struggle, he emphasizes the value of the collective ups and downs in defining one's faith. He firmly believes that it is through navigating these trials that a deeper spiritual connection can be fostered. His aim isn't to preach dogma but to reveal how daily occurrences, encompassing both joyful and painful moments, can act as conduits for divine alignment.
The book, available in several formats including both hardcover and electronic, provides an inspiring and relatable read for those seeking to enhance their understanding of faith in tandem with everyday experiences.

About the Author
Mike Mountz, born on December 22, 1952, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is a testament to resilience. Overcoming significant challenges such as severe dyslexia, he left school after eighth grade but didn't let that hinder his entrepreneurial spirit. After serving in the U.S. Army, he founded Cloister Car Wash, a venture that not only employed and empowered thousands of youths but also earned accolades, including three international awards and induction into the National Hall of Fame before he sold the business in 2012.
Mountz has dealt with lifelong challenges, including dyslexia and bipolar disorder, yet persevered and relocated with his wife, Rhoda, to New Zealand. Together, they constructed an acclaimed Equestrian Center from the ground up. Upon returning to Pennsylvania in 2023, Mountz founded Grace for Vets, a service that has provided complimentary car washes for over four million veterans every Veterans Day. He is also the author of two books, including "Why Me?" and now "FAITH," focusing on themes of resilience, empowerment, and service to others.
