GeoCode's Kaoru Yokoyama Recognized at the Web Grand Prix
In a remarkable achievement, Kaoru Yokoyama, a lead designer in the Organic Marketing Department of GeoCode, has been awarded the Special Contribution Award at the 13th Web Grand Prix. Held under the auspices of the Japan Advertisers Association’s Digital Marketing Research Organization, this event celebrates outstanding contributions to the digital landscape.
What is the Web Grand Prix?
The Web Grand Prix serves as a prestigious platform for recognizing individuals and sites that have significantly contributed to the development of the digital society. It is a fusion of the Web Creation Awards and the Corporate Web Grand Prix, both of which have honored numerous web creators over many years. The award aims to acknowledge the impressive achievements of individuals and companies, promoting a healthy evolution of websites and celebrating the efforts and successes within the web community.

Project Behind the Award
Yokoyama led the design efforts for Asukanet’s high-quality photobook service, MyBook, which was submitted for the Web Grand Prix. Although the project did not win an award, the unique peer-review system of the competition allowed all participants to review and provide feedback on each other's sites, which led to valuable insights. During this evaluation process, the focus was on user experience across various devices, with comments given from both a user’s and web designer’s perspective. It seems this dual approach to feedback helped secure the Special Contribution Award.
