On August 25, 2026, the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities announced the significant appointment of Dr. Shana Ford as their new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2026. Dr. Ford succeeds Pat Sukhum, who has recently completed five years of transformative leadership. Under Sukhum's guidance, the organization attained notable achievements, including the prestigious title of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America's 2023 Large Agency of the Year—the first such recognition in over a century. Dr. Ford has extensive experience, previously serving as the CEO of NorthStar Public Schools (formerly KIPP Minnesota Public Schools) since October 2020. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing strategy, fundraising, and operations, showcasing her capability in turning around organizations. With a doctorate in strategic leadership and more than 15 years in executive positions across sectors including education, nonprofit management, and workforce development, Ford is set to bring a wealth of knowledge to her new role.
