Available exclusively at the Shake Shack Minamo Hiroshima location, this innovative shake will hit the menu on August 1, 2025, and will be offered until August 31, 2025.
This collaboration features a partnership with the renowned Kamo Tsuru Sake Brewery, a historic sake maker founded in 1873 in Hiroshima. A region known for its exceptional sake, Hiroshima’s rich brewing culture makes it a perfect backdrop for this creative endeavor. Shake Shack has always focused on supporting local communities and integrating regional tastes into its menu. Previously, the Minamo Hiroshima location featured a delightful Lemon Cheesecake Shake in partnership with a local pastry shop, Castagna, which delighted customers. Now, with the insightful collaboration with Kamo Tsuru, they are poised to unveil a shake that embodies the essence of Hiroshima.
The Sake Shake is crafted using Kamo Tsuru’s traditional ‘Taruzake’, a type of sake aged in cedar barrels. This unique technique provides a distinct mellow flavor profile, characterized by a subtle cedar aroma and a rich, refined taste. By combining this exquisite sake with Shake Shack's creamy vanilla frozen custard, the resulting beverage offers an unparalleled experience; as you take a sip, the light cedar notes intertwine with the saké's gentle sweetness, creating a luxurious, harmonious blend unlike anything you’ve tasted before.
August is set to be an exciting month for the locals and tourists alike, as the Hiroshima Electric Railway will also commence its new route that connects directly into the second floor of the station building, right in front of Shake Shack Minamo. About Kamo Tsuru Sake Brewery
Founded in the sixth year of the Meiji era (1873), Kamo Tsuru Sake Brewery is located in Saijo, Higashi-Hiroshima, a region celebrated for its ideal climate and excellent quality water for sake brewing. They use only locally sourced rice for their sake production and meticulously handle almost all the rice polishing in-house. Their brewing water originates from the Kamiyama range, emphasizing a dedication to high-quality ingredients. With historical significance, the Saijo sake brewing area, including Kamo Tsuru, will be designated a national historic site in 2024, attracting numerous tourists to its historically rich streets.
