Dentsu PRC Receives Gold for LGBTQ+ Efforts for Three Consecutive Years



Dentsu PR Consulting (Dentsu PRC) has proudly announced that it has achieved a Gold rating for its efforts in promoting diversity and inclusivity for LGBTQ+ individuals, as assessed by the PRIDE Index 2025. This recognition marks the third consecutive year that the agency has received this honor, a testament to its commitment to fostering a supportive workplace for sexual minorities.

The PRIDE Index, a benchmark established by the non-profit organization Work with Pride in 2016, evaluates organizations based on their efforts to enhance LGBTQ+ diversity management. The rating system, which also includes Silver and Bronze awards, assesses companies across five categories: 1. Policy (Action Declarations) 2. Representation (Community Involvement) 3. Inspiration (Awareness Activities) 4. Development (HR Systems and Programs) 5. Engagement/Empowerment (Social Contribution Activities).

This year marks Dentsu PRC's fifth entry into the index, following Silver achievements in 2021 and 2022, and now a Gold rating for 2023 to 2025. The company's proactive initiatives, which include LGBTQ+ study groups for employees, training for HR representatives, surveys on employee awareness, and establishing a consultation service with legal experts, demonstrate its sincere commitment to understanding diverse family structures, including same-sex marriage.

In 2025, Dentsu PRC committed to supporting the Equality Act Japan's declaration for business-driven LGBTQ+ equality support. Building on Dentsu Group's Human Rights Policy, which emphasizes equality and non-discrimination, the company aims to foster a work environment where everyone can express their genuine selves, irrespective of sexual orientation or gender identity.

1. Raising Awareness through Ally Community
Dentsu PRC has established an ally community, comprised of employees who are supportive and understanding of LGBTQ+ issues, inviting LGBTQ+ individuals as advisors. The community promotes awareness through workshops and newsletters. Additionally, during Pride Month in June, the company co-hosted the fourth OnlinePRIDE event for employees across six companies in the Dentsu Group.

2. Creating an Inclusive Environment through Policy Updates
To foster inclusivity, Dentsu PRC has revised internal regulations to extend benefits to same-sex partners, ensuring that support systems are accessible to all. Furthermore, guidelines on LGBTQ+ inclusion and policies concerning coming out in hiring processes have been shared with employees to promote awareness.

Dentsu PRC aims to create a more supportive work environment for new graduates and career hires by implementing a checklist to gauge necessary considerations related to health conditions, gender identity, and family caregiving responsibilities.

4. Support for the Equality Act Japan
The company aligned itself with the Equality Act Japan's declaration for business-driven LGBTQ+ equality support, committing to uphold principles of equality and non-discrimination in creating an accommodating work environment for all staff members.

5. Management Participation in Ally Networks
Dentsu PRC's top executives, including Yasumasa Yamaguchi, participated in the Pride1000 network, a collective of CEOs advocating for positive messaging and promoting ally networks among business leaders.
