China Cycle 2025: Innovation for the Future
The 32nd edition of the China Cycle International Bicycle Fair took place successfully in Shanghai this past May, marking a significant milestone in the global bicycle industry. Hosted on a vast area of 150,000 square meters, the event attracted over 140,000 participants from 137 countries, with 1,460 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations and products in the cycling sector. Following its tremendous success, China Cycle is set to return from May 5 to May 8, 2025, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, under the theme "New Quality Productivity, For the Shared Future". The focus will be on expanding its reach and enriching the event's content.
Established in 1990, China Cycle has grown to become the leading bicycle exhibition in China, covering the entire industrial chain and facilitating essential interactions within the industry. According to the China Bicycle Association's 2023 report, bicycles cover over 110 billion kilometers annually, effectively replacing around 6.4 billion car trips. This shift towards cycling is particularly pronounced in the Yangtze River Delta, where more than 60% of young individuals own bicycles—primarily road and mountain bikes—accounting for 65% of the market. Notably, over 60% of these bicycles are sold at prices exceeding 1,000 yuan, indicating a consumer trend toward high-end products.
In 2024, China Cycle welcomed over 15,000 international visitors, mainly from Asia, Europe, and America. The fair featured major brands presenting their products, as well as engaging interactive experiences such as e-sports tournaments, electric bike trials, and children’s bike testing. To foster cross-border business relationships, the last three editions of the fair included international buyer meetings, enhanced by online and offline interactions that catered to diverse purchasing needs, attracting nearly a hundred foreign buyers.

- - Increasing Cycling Trends: A rise in cycling enthusiasm among consumers is driving domestic sales and market development.
Amid China’s goal for carbon neutrality by 2060, discussions surrounding low-carbon transportation have intensified. In response, numerous cities are enhancing their infrastructure, such as building more bicycle lanes, to promote greener commuting options. China Cycle continues to serve as a global benchmark for the bicycle industry, paving the way for sustainable mobility and healthier lifestyles.
