GAC INPOW Unveils Revolutionary 587Ah Semi-Solid State Energy Storage Cell at Intersolar Europe 2026
GAC INPOW Makes Waves at Intersolar Europe 2026
In a remarkable debut, INPOW Battery, a subsidiary of GAC Group focused on energy storage solutions, showcased its pioneering semi-solid state energy storage cell at Intersolar Europe 2026. This innovative 587Ah cell, which is the world's first mass-produced of its kind, combines the safety features of solid-state technology with scalability and cost-effectiveness, setting a new benchmark in the energy storage industry.
Breaking Down the Technology
The 587Ah cell features a unique composite electrolyte made of oxide and polymer, which reduces the free electrolyte content to less than 0.01%. This enhancement significantly boosts safety performance, bringing it close to the safety standards of entirely solid-state batteries. Determined to prove its reliability, the cell successfully endured rigorous testing, including being compressed to ten times the national standard, fully sliced open, exposed to a scorching 200°C, and even direct flames exceeding 1,000°C—all without igniting or exploding.
Industrial Scale Energy Storage Systems
Alongside the cell, INPOW also introduced a 6.25 MWh liquid cooling energy storage system designed for large-scale renewable energy integration, grid balancing, and long-duration energy storage applications. This robust system incorporates a three-tier safety protection, AI-driven predictive diagnostics, and a cloud monitoring platform that can detect risks up to 20 days in advance and issue overheating alerts 24 hours prior to a potential failure.
A Strategic Move into Europe
This unveiling marks a crucial step in INPOW's global expansion strategy, particularly its entry into the European energy storage market. The company plans to establish a sales and technical support center in Europe by October 2026, aimed at providing local technical support, after-sales services, spare parts, and project development assistance for European clients. As XU Junhai, CEO of INPOW Battery, stated, "Europe is a strategic market for the global energy storage sector and represents the first step in INPOW's international expansion journey. We are committed to providing our European partners with safety norms that meet automotive industry standards, cutting-edge battery technology, and long-term local support."
Leveraging Automotive Expertise
Building on the automotive expertise of GAC Group, INPOW blends quality battery technology with smart manufacturing and integrated energy management capabilities to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable energy storage solutions on a global scale.
Visitors can meet the INPOW team and learn more about their innovative solutions at the Intersolar Europe exhibition, located at Hall C3, Stand C3.350, Messe München, Munich, Germany from June 23 to 25, 2026. This event marks a pivotal moment not only for INPOW but also for the future of energy storage technology worldwide.
