These new items are priced at 250 yen (excluding tax) and will be available through supermarkets, drugstores, and online retailers nationwide.

Development Background: Affordable Yet Satisfying

The "Dashi to Ajiwau" rice cooking ingredients were developed with families in mind who enjoy incorporating handmade dishes into their daily meals. Traditional rice dishes, like kamameshi, are particularly beneficial as they allow for reduced side dishes while maintaining a satisfying dining experience. In a survey carried out by Yamamori in 2022, it was revealed that flavoring was more important than ingredients themselves when it comes to rice cooking products, with consumers specifically seeking the rich umami that dashi provides.

Building on these insights, the new series offers deep flavor profiles with an enhanced dashi experience. This includes 5 types of domestic ingredients utilized in their dashi, alongside the introduction of chicken and bonito dashi to provide a more depth in taste. The pricing strategy is designed to offer pocket-friendly options amid rising grocery costs, making it easier for families to create satisfying meals with just the right amount of ingredients.

Market Trends in Rice Pricing

In a promising trend, the skyrocketing rice prices experienced last year have started to stabilize. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the average price of rice for the fiscal year 2026 is projecting a decrease of approximately 10% compared to last year, suggesting an increased frequency of rice on dinner tables as new harvests are anticipated.

Yamamori aims to continue delivering high satisfaction and quality in daily meals, positioning itself as a cornerstone for both emotional and physical well-being through its products.
