By 2019, every town, township, and administrative village with suitable conditions was connected to paved roads, and by 2020, all such villages had established access to bus services.

China has also contributed through global platforms like the Global Sustainable Transport Innovation and Knowledge Center, fostering cooperation and sharing knowledge on rural development strategies. Additionally, China has conducted various international training sessions aimed at enhancing road construction and management skills in countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Furthermore, since 2018, China has provided assistance in developing rural road infrastructure in 24 foreign nations, including Cambodia and Rwanda.
