SANY Heavy Truck Unveils Series-Ready Electric Trucks at IAA Transportation 2026 Trade Show

SANY Heavy Truck's Electric Future at IAA Transportation 2026

SANY Heavy Truck, alongside its partner Putzmeister, made waves at the IAA Transportation 2026 expo, introducing a lineup of electric commercial vehicles ready for mass production. Under the theme "Here to Stay," the company emphasized its commitment to the European market by showcasing the SE636, a heavy-duty electric truck designed for efficiency and performance.

Innovative Features of the SE636

The SE636 boasts a robust battery system with a capacity of 636 kWh, providing a reported range of up to 500 kilometers. With a gross weight of 10.9 metric tons, this vehicle is not only powerful but also compliant with the European Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA), solidifying its legitimacy for use across various European nations including Germany and Turkey.

At the expo, Kevin Eichele, the head of product development and business growth for SANY-Putzmeister, presented the company’s strategic focus on delivering commercially viable vehicles that adhere to European regulations. This model signifies the first heavy-duty electric truck manufactured in China to receive EU WVTA certification, paving the way for SANY to bolster its footprint in the European market.

Customer Experience and Performance

To provide real-world insights into the performance of their vehicles, SANY organized a two-kilometer test track at the exhibition for fleet operators and logistics clients to experience the SE636 firsthand. Feedback from participants highlighted the truck’s smooth acceleration, effective energy recuperation, and remarkably low noise levels in the cabin.

Globally, more than 70,000 of SANY’s electric heavy trucks are now operational. Since establishing localized operations in Europe in 2022, SANY’s electric commercial vehicles have reached 15 European markets, accumulating over 20 million kilometers in operational mileage.

Commitment to Local Support

To ensure the ongoing operability of its fleet, SANY has laid the groundwork for a comprehensive customer support network across Europe. By partnering with established local service partners, SANY offers customers access to about 650 service workshops for routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. Additionally, 24/7 roadside assistance is available, bolstered by the expertise of European service teams who are equipped to handle complex service needs.

SANY's debut at IAA Transportation is a significant milestone in its long-term dedication to the European market, combining proven technology with operational experience and localized support. As the electrification of transport accelerates, SANY remains committed to enhancing its presence in Europe and promoting practical, scalable zero-emission solutions that contribute to a more efficient and sustainable future in commercial transport.
