The World Expo 2025 in Osaka-Kansai is set to open its doors on April 13, 2025, and with it comes an exciting opportunity for visitors to engage with the United Nations (UN) through its dedicated Pavilion gift shop. Operated by Auc Corporation, based in Shibuya, Tokyo, the gift shop will offer a unique selection of exclusive United Nations and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) merchandise.

The central theme of the UN Pavilion, "United for a Better Future," emphasizes the strength found in unity among global communities. This initiative marks the 80th anniversary of the UN and aims to showcase extensive efforts towards achieving the SDGs, addressing global challenges, and cooperation for a sustainable future. Visitors can explore various exhibitions and events highlighting sustainable development, human rights, climate change, and maintaining peace and safety through collaborative actions.

To complement these meaningful displays, the gift shop will feature items designed to leave a lasting impression about sustainability and environmental responsibility.

1. Cotton Bag - Price: ¥500 (incl. tax)
This lightweight cotton tote bag is perfect for carrying A4-sized documents. Designed with a pattern combining the UN Pavilion’s exterior imagery and logo, it serves well as an eco-friendly everyday bag or for transporting materials during your visit to the expo.

2. Eco-Friendly Clear File - Price: ¥500 (incl. tax)
Made from 70% recycled PP material derived from previously unrecyclable plastic waste, this environmentally friendly clear file features a dotted design incorporating the SDGs' 17 colors along with the UN Pavilion logo. The partially transparent back allows for easy viewing of contents.

3. PLA Cork Tumbler - Price: ¥2,200 (incl. tax)
Crafted from biodegradable PLA resin derived from plant-based lactic acid, this cork tumbler showcases individuality with its unique arrangement of colorful pieces.

4. Ballpoint Pen Made from Ocean Plastic - Price: ¥700 (incl. tax)
This ballpoint pen is crafted from nearly 100% recycled resin, primarily sourced from ocean plastic waste and used contact lens cases. It is the first product in the stationery industry to receive certification from the EcoMark for products made from recycled marine waste.

5. Wooden Dove Pin - Price: ¥800 (incl. tax)
Made from domestic Hinoki wood, this pin is cut with a laser and features a burn stamp. Responsible forestry practices, such as thinning and pruning, contribute to forest sustainability, showcasing how natural resources can be effectively utilized.

In addition to the above items, the gift shop will also feature plush toys and books related to the UN, creating a diverse and attractive array of merchandise. The Expo is expected to draw approximately 28 million visitors from April 13 to October 13, 2025. The UN Pavilion will open daily from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM.
