Japan Amateur Radio League's Unique Contribution to the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo
The Japan Amateur Radio League (JARL), led by President Koji Morita (JA5SUD), is set to play a significant role in the upcoming Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025. Centered around the theme of "Designing a Future Society in Which Life Shines," this international exposition will feature a special amateur radio station named "8K3EXPO" within its grounds, marking a unique collaboration as the "Operational Supplier" of the expo.
Expanding Global Communication
JARL's initiative will see this special station operate from April 13 to October 13, 2025, for the full duration of the expo. The 8K3EXPO station will enable amateur radio operators from across the globe to connect and engage, thereby broadcasting updates and information about the expo to an international audience. Licensed amateur radio operators will have the chance to operate under the special call sign. Additionally, those without licenses will be able to participate in a hands-on experience under supervision.
