Attaxion Integrates EU Vulnerability Database to Elevate Security Standards

In a pioneering move, Attaxion has announced its integration of the European Vulnerability Database (EUVD) into its external attack surface management (EASM) platform. The EUVD, operated by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), is a publicly accessible repository, aimed at improving vulnerability management in response to the NIS2 Directive. Launched in beta testing in April 2025, the EUVD employs a multi-stakeholder approach, offering unique identifiers for vulnerabilities, cross-referencing with established Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), and aggregating insights from Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) and additional sources.

With only 30% of discovered vulnerabilities typically assigned a CVE identifier, the EUVD serves as a crucial supplementary resource. Moreover, EUVD data will now be displayed alongside existing vulnerability metrics like Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) scores and inclusion in Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) lists. This integrated presentation allows security teams to evaluate issues based on various factors, including severity, exploitability, and regulatory significance, thus fostering improved prioritization and remediation outcomes.
