Strategic Partnership Between Intellian and Network Innovations for Portable Military Terminals

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Intellian Technologies Inc., a key player in advanced satellite communication technologies, has partnered with Network Innovations, a prominent global system integrator focused on military and government sectors. This strategic alliance aims to develop and market next-generation tactical portable terminals designed for Wideband Global Satellite Communication (WGS) systems, setting a new standard for communication capabilities in military and governmental operations.

The new portable terminal platform, rooted in over two decades of operational insights from Network Innovations in supporting military and WGS clients, will be the world’s first capable of simultaneously providing connectivity across military X-band and Ka-band frequencies as well as commercial Ka- and Ku-band services. This remarkable feature allows for electronic switching over an expanded range of Ka-band frequencies, promising unprecedented flexibility and reliability in communications.

Designed explicitly for deployment in challenging environments, these portable terminals assure secure, fail-safe, and high-performance communication links for expeditionary forces and other mission-critical operations. Remarkably, the terminals can be operational within 30 minutes of setup and are engineered for interoperable operation across different frequency bands and orbital settings, including Low Earth Orbit (LEO), Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), Geostationary Orbit (GEO), and Highly Elliptical Orbit (HEO) constellations.

The robust terminals are being crafted to meet complete WGS certification and fulfill critical Military Specifications (MIL-SPEC) requirements. Intellian also plans to introduce commercial variants of the new platform that will not rely on WGS infrastructure, thus broadening technology applications in public sector organizations, enterprises, and critical communication sectors.

Eric Sung, CEO of Intellian Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "The development of our first tactical portable WGS terminal platform represents a significant expansion of our military and governmental portfolio. By combining the ability to leverage X-band and military Ka-band frequencies alongside access to a wider array of commercial Ka frequencies and multi-orbit connectivity in a rapidly deployable structure, we are poised to meet the increasingly complex communication demands of modern defense operations. Our goal is to offer forces augmented flexibility, reliability, and dependable connectivity, no matter where their missions take them."

Derek Dawson, CEO of Network Innovations, further emphasized the cooperative benefits, stating, "Blending Intellian’s advanced terminal technology with Network Innovations' extensive experience in serving military and government clients globally enables us to expedite the rollout of this new capability. Not only does this next-generation solution support WGS satellites, but it also facilitates the combined use of all existing and upcoming LEO and MEO satellites—a crucial consideration for our clients’ operations."

This partnership signals a pivotal advancement in military communications, addressing the essential need for adaptable and effective communications systems in an ever-evolving operational landscape. As they embark on this journey together, Intellian and Network Innovations are set to provide unmatched service and technological excellence to military and governmental clients worldwide.
