In a significant move to bolster its strategic growth, Woolpert has appointed Jen Sorenson as its new Executive Vice President of Infrastructure. A Leader in Infrastructure Development



With over 20 years of leadership experience, Jen Sorenson has a proven track record in executing growth initiatives and managing large-scale infrastructure projects within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. In her new role, she will oversee the multi-disciplinary infrastructure division of Woolpert, emphasizing operational excellence and client success.

Prior to joining Woolpert, Sorenson held various leadership positions at notable firms such as AtkinsRéalis, AECOM, and Atlas. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President for Infrastructure at Atlas, managing a major business unit and leading over 800 employees across operational performance and strategic direction.

Sorenson's depth of knowledge in infrastructure projects spans key areas like transportation and water supply, working on both federal and local levels. Her career began as a registered civil engineer, which equipped her with the technical expertise needed to excel in project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

As the new Executive VP, Sorenson's focus will lie in spearheading Woolpert’s efforts towards enhancing collaboration across sectors, driving operational improvements, and leading strategic initiatives aimed at positioning the company to address the complex challenges in the infrastructure sector. Woolpert aims to harness innovative solutions that cater to global clientele, reflecting its dedication to customer success and market expansion.

Neil Churman, President and CEO of Woolpert, expressed confidence in Sorenson's leadership style. Sorenson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of North Dakota and a Master’s degree in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Recently, she completed the Harvard Business Analytics Program, further enhancing her qualifications.

Her influential leadership has garnered national recognition, including being named one of the ‘Top 10 Outstanding Women in America’ by The Chief Navigators and being featured in the ‘Top 50 Women Leaders in Texas’ list by Women We Admire. Sorenson will be based at the Woolpert office in Austin, Texas.
