Available in limited quantities at select Seven-Eleven stores across Japan, this drink is inspired by the expertise of bartenders at the renowned "The CHOYA Ginza Bar" in Tokyo.

The Legacy of CHOYA


Founded in 1914, CHOYA originated as a grape farm with a specialization in producing wines and brandies. The company ventured into Umeshu (plum wine) production in 1959, sparking a fascination among their blenders with the harmonious marriage of brandy and Umeshu. Over the last 50 years, this passion has been passed down, culminating in the creation of the Brandy Umeshu.

Crafting the New Highball


This highball is a result of innovative bartending techniques developed at The CHOYA Ginza Bar. The drink features a blend of two unique types of Umeshu—one created by infusing Kishu Nanko plums with 100% French brandy, and the other combining Kishu Nanko plums with alcohol for a distinct flavor profile. This meticulous pairing allows for a rich aroma of brandy and the deep, complex taste of the matured Umeshu.

To enhance the drink’s dryness, additional French brandy is mixed, resulting in a refreshing highball that showcases a crisp finish, perfectly balancing the acidity of the plum.

The packaging design for this highball reflects its refined character, predominantly featuring a chic black color symbolizing the dry essence of a traditional highball, contrasted by a luxurious orange hue reminiscent of perfectly ripened Kishu Nanko plums. This striking combination of colors conveys the drink's sophisticated appeal.

In addition to its limited release at Seven-Eleven, the Brandy Umeshu Highball will also be available at The CHOYA Ginza Bar starting August 13, 2025.
