Limited Ken Stratocaster® Dodome by L’Arc-en-Ciel's Ken Available for Pre-order Starting April 2026

Introducing the Limited Ken Stratocaster® Dodome

In a groundbreaking announcement, Fender Music Corporation has unveiled the Limited Ken Stratocaster® Dodome, a signature model crafted for Ken, the guitarist of the iconic Japanese rock band L’Arc-en-Ciel. This limited-edition guitar is set for pre-order on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM (JST) through Fender Flagship Tokyo and the official Fender online shop. Since its founding, L’Arc-en-Ciel has garnered immense popularity in the rock music scene as they celebrate their 35th anniversary in 2026.

Order Details and Release Information

The release of the Limited Ken Stratocaster® Dodome coincides with a special baseball cap called Limited Ken Baseball Cap, both launching on May 22, 2026. Please keep in mind that both products are in limited supply, and once they reach their allocated numbers, pre-orders and sales will cease.

Ken has always been on a quest for the perfect sound, and after his last project, the Ken Stratocaster® Experiment #1, that featured single-coil pickups, he is eager to explore the potential of humbucker pickups in this new model. The Limited Ken Stratocaster® Dodome is characterized by two specialized humbuckers and a hardtail bridge, taking his sound to a new level while prioritizing playability and aesthetics.

Ken’s Vision and Unique Design

Ken shared his thoughts on this model: “With the Experiment #1, I was able to shape the sound I wanted using single coils. For this project, however, I aimed for something different with the Experiment #2 concept, experimenting with humbuckers. I was pleasantly surprised by how 'wild' the sound turned out, maintaining the Stratocaster's touch and harmonics, so I hope players will enjoy this new sound.”

Visually, the Dodome model features a predominantly black body accented with the traditional Japanese color Dodome, creating a striking and refined contrast. Adding a nitrocellulose lacquer finish gives the guitar a deep, lustrous sheen reminiscent of lacquer artistry in Japan. Additionally, the hardware incorporates a black and gold combination inspired by traditional Japanese decorations, while incorporating brass in the nut and maintaining a cohesive design through gold plated frets and back plates.

Technical Specifications

The structure of the neck and body retains the base design from Experiment #1 but reflects adjustments made directly by Ken himself, improving tuning and playability. It features a 22-fret design for improved performance in the higher registers. The guitar is equipped with FISHMAN Fluence Classic Humbucker pickups and achieves a strong, low-end response with powerful output, making it a versatile option for both live performances and recording.

Alongside the guitar, customers will receive a specialized molded case featuring a leopard print interior, stickers, and stencils for personalization. Notably, the guitar includes a neck plate embossed with a serial number and a certificate of authenticity, making it a treasure for fans and collectors alike.

Special Launch Event

To celebrate the release of the Limited Ken Stratocaster® Dodome, Fender Flagship Tokyo will host a special event for customers. Attendees will have the chance to interact with Ken and participate in live demonstrations. The event is scheduled for July 8, 2026. To attend, customers must have purchased or pre-ordered the guitar and submit their receipts for confirmation.

Conclusion

Mark your calendars for the pre-order date and prepare to experience the power of Ken’s latest creation, the Limited Ken Stratocaster® Dodome. This guitar represents not just a remarkable piece of music technology, but a tribute to the enduring legacy of L’Arc-en-Ciel and its legendary guitarist. Stay tuned to the official Fender website as more updates on the event and release details will follow.
