Slow Wine US Tour Set for 2026
The Slow Wine initiative proudly announces its upcoming US Tour for 2026, aiming to showcase wines that respect the land and honor the people who cultivate it. This event is a celebration of not just wine, but also the richness of biodiversity that shapes our agricultural heritage.
The tour will take place in three vibrant cities: San Francisco, Austin, and New York City, strategically following the 2026 Slow Wine Fair in Italy, which is now recognized as the largest organic wine fair in the country. This year's fair will feature over 1,000 producers from various regions, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices in winemaking globally.
The Slow Wine Guide, published annually, highlights the virtues of sustainability and authenticity in wines, and the 2026 US edition will spotlight over 300 American wineries that share these values. Each event during the tour will be designed for trade professionals, allowing them to connect directly with wine producers, sample their offerings, and experience firsthand the philosophy behind Slow Wine’s mission. The format includes expansive walk-around tastings that facilitate engagement, exploration of sustainable vineyard practices, and a chance to learn the stories that each bottle tells. Seminars led by recognized sponsors, like the Consorzio Asolo Prosecco, will enhance the educational aspect of the tour.
Tour Dates and Locations:
- - San Francisco, CA – March 2, 2026 - City View at Metreon
- - Austin, TX – March 4, 2026 - Distribution Hall
- - New York, NY – March 9, 2026 - Eataly Downtown
Despite recent challenges facing the wine market, including ongoing issues in the American market, Slow Wine’s unwavering presence in the United States reflects its commitment to fostering relationships with importers, distributors, and retailers. This annual tour has established itself as a trustworthy gathering point for professionals seeking authentic, sustainably produced wines, ultimately strengthening Slow Wine’s purpose of connecting responsible producers with one of the most influential wine markets in the world.
Emphasizing not only sustainability in vineyards and artisanal winemaking, Slow Wine also considers the broader environmental implications of their practices, such as landscape preservation and biodiversity protection. They carefully evaluate packaging choices with a focus on glass weight to minimize environmental impact. Furthermore, the campaign upholds social responsibility, advocating for fair labor practices and inclusivity, particularly in involving young individuals and women in winemaking.
“Every year, the Slow Wine US Tour provides a platform to demonstrate the deep connections between wine, land, and the stewardship of those who care for it,” remarks Giancarlo Gariglio, Editor-in-Chief of the Slow Wine Guide. “The participating producers exemplify that quality can coexist with sustainability, making it essential for us to share these principles in the US.”
Alongside the US Tour, Slow Wine actively participates in various initiatives throughout the United States. For instance, the 2025 Terra Madre Americas event held in Sacramento attracted over 60 American producers and garnered commendable feedback for its masterclasses and engaging sessions that highlighted the rising interest in sustainability and authentic practices within the American wine landscape.
Slow Wine remains dedicated to supporting farmers and winemakers who balance quality with sustainability and cultural awareness, continuously honoring the essence of Good, Clean Fair wine.
