Florida Realtors® Foundation Disburses $226,000 in Scholarships for 2026-2027
The Florida Realtors® Education Foundation Inc. recently announced that it will provide scholarships amounting to $226,000 for the academic year 2026-2027. This initiative aims at assisting 226 promising students from diverse communities throughout Florida who are set to begin their college journeys in a few months. Established as a non-profit entity under the Florida Realtor® association, the Foundation has consistently prioritized the advancement of education related to real estate through its various scholarships.
According to Alisa Rogers, this year’s chair of the Board of Directors for the Florida Realtors Education Foundation Inc., the foundation's commitment over the past 16 years has allowed them to contribute a remarkable total of $3,200,600. This support has been instrumental in enabling 2,426 students to further their education and realize their aspirations. "This year's funding signifies more than just financial support; it embodies Realtors' commitment to nurturing the upcoming generation, helping them to pursue their educational aspirations," stated Rogers.
The recipients of these scholarships will be pursuing varied courses at a range of educational institutions. Notable universities include the University of Florida, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, University of North Florida, Florida International University, Stetson University, College of Law, Florida Gulf Coast University, University of South Florida, and Florida A&M University. Additionally, students will also attend prestigious institutions outside of Florida, such as Georgetown University and Villanova University, among others.
The selection process for these awards was meticulous, taking into consideration not only the academic achievements of the applicants but also their financial necessity, ties to the Realtor community, and contributions to their families and local communities. This strategic approach ensures that those who are truly deserving and demonstrate a strong commitment to their education are awarded.
The Florida Realtors® organization itself stands as a prominent advocate for real estate in Florida, serving a significant membership of 238,000 across 47 boards and associations. They provide services, educational programs, and legislative representation to ensure the growth and integrity of real estate practices and to foster a supportive environment for both realtors and their clients. The impact of the scholarships provided this year is anticipated to be profound, to not only support students financially but also to inspire a future generation that includes prospective leaders in the real estate market.
This initiative reflects the continued commitment of Florida Realtors® to uplifting communities and ensuring access to quality education for all, making it a pivotal part of their mission. As the academic year approaches, these 226 students will surely feel a sense of relief and excitement, knowing that they have robust support behind them as they take their next big steps into higher education and, eventually, their respective careers. The Florida Realtors Education Foundation Inc. remains dedicated to its cause, underlining the importance of education in shaping futures and building communities for years to come.
