(MJS), based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, has been officially selected for the JPX Nikkei Small and Mid Cap Index for the fiscal year 2026, covering the period from August 31, 2026, to August 30, 2027. This important achievement was announced by the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Nikkei Inc.
MJS has established a significant presence in the market, currently serving approximately 8,400 accounting firms and around 100,000 users that include medium and small enterprises, as well as small businesses. Understanding the JPX Nikkei Small and Mid Cap Index
The JPX Nikkei Small and Mid Cap Index operates under the same conceptual framework as the JPX Nikkei Index 400, focusing on companies with high investment appeal. This index is structured around businesses that are dedicated to sustained corporate value enhancement and shareholder-centric management.
Jointly calculated by JPX Research Institute and Nikkei Inc., the index comprises stocks available on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's prime, standard, and growth markets. The selection process involves a rigorous filtering of stocks based on market capitalization, liquidity metrics, and quantitative indicators such as the three-year average return on equity (ROE). Qualitative aspects, including the appointment of independent outside directors, contribute positively to the scoring.
