Major Partnership for Railway Modernization in Copenhagen

On September 24, 2026, Teleste Corporation announced that it has been chosen by Siemens Mobility to supply state-of-the-art on-board passenger information systems and CCTV for the next-generation trains intended for the Copenhagen S-bane network. This monumental contract, valued at approximately 40 million euros, marks a significant advancement in the modernization of Denmark's rail infrastructure, aiming to create a more efficient and passenger-friendly experience.

The project will see the introduction of 226 fully automated four-car train sets, with an additional option for 100 more, positioning Copenhagen at the forefront of automated railway systems globally. This is a part of the largest investment scheme in the history of the Copenhagen S-bane, which has been operational for 90 years. The new fleets are expected to commence passenger service by 2032, with deliveries scheduled to start in 2028 and stretch until 2040.

Teleste's innovative solutions will incorporate on-board passenger information, public announcements, CCTV systems, and passenger communications, all managed through the company’s proprietary S-ARRIVE® software. This technology aims to enhance service reliability and improve traveler comfort, ensuring that passengers receive accurate information and can communicate effectively while traveling.

The new train designs feature modern aesthetics, combined with an open layout aimed at passenger comfort.
