Samsung Wallet Expands Its Offerings in Japan
Samsung Electronics Japan has announced a significant expansion of its digital wallet service, Samsung Wallet, designed for Samsung Galaxy users. As of August 1, 2025, users can now integrate JCB credit cards, d払い (a QR and barcode payment service), dポイント, and PGMポイント, which enables booking and smart check-ins at 149 golf courses across the country. This update aims to streamline payment processes and enhance user convenience.
What is Samsung Wallet?
Samsung Wallet is a secure mobile application that consolidates various payment methods, including credit and debit cards, QR and barcode payments, loyalty cards, and boarding passes, all accessible from the lock screen of Samsung Galaxy devices. This innovative digital wallet integrates seamlessly with
d払い, further enhancing its usability. Previously, the wallet service was the first among smartphone manufacturers in Japan to support
PayPay, and now it continues its trend by adding d払い to its roster of services.
With Samsung Wallet, users can easily swipe up to access and make payments instantly without the need to navigate through multiple apps. This functionality is a part of Samsung Pay, making transactions as quick and efficient as possible.
How to Get Started
To begin using Samsung Wallet, download it from the Galaxy Store or Google Play. Note that it is free to use and supports Samsung Galaxy smartphones released in 2021 or later that run on Android 14 or higher. Unfortunately, it is not currently available on Galaxy Watch series.
Users can find the complete list of compatible devices on the official Samsung website.
Exciting Campaigns Launching with the Service Expansion
To celebrate the inclusion of d払い and dポイント, Samsung Wallet is hosting a series of exciting campaigns. From August 1 to September 30, 2025, Samsung will facilitate a total prize pool of 40 million yen, with two simultaneous campaigns:
1.
d払い Registration Campaign: Register d払い within Samsung Wallet and enter to share 20 million yen.
2.
dポイント Registration Campaign: Register dポイント to also share the remaining 20 million yen.
The individual reward limit per user is capped at 2,000 points. It's important to note that participants must enter the campaigns separately, and both campaigns are open for registration. The points to be distributed will vary based on the number of participants.
Promotions with Partner Services
In addition to its campaigns, Samsung Wallet users can also partake in promotions through partner services like Mitsui Sumitomo Card and JCB. Starting August 1, a campaign for first-time users of Samsung Pay with Mitsui Sumitomo Card promises a maximum of 1,000 yen in V points. Established users can enter a drawing for a chance to win 10,000 yen in V points as well.
For JCB cardholders, from August 15 to September 15, 2025, registering a JCB card in Samsung Wallet can earn users a 500 yen Amazon gift card, provided they meet the payment conditions specified in the campaign.
Unique Events for Samsung Galaxy Users
In addition to digital promotions, Samsung Wallet is also set to host a golf competition exclusive to Samsung Galaxy users linked to PGMポイント. Participants will get the rare chance to play alongside professionals and celebrities on October 12, 2025. This event features a limited number of qualifiers, ensuring an intimate and exciting atmosphere.

With Samsung Wallet's recent service expansion, it’s now easier than ever for Samsung Galaxy users in Japan to manage their digital transactions efficiently. From integrating JCB cards and QR payments to launching exclusive meet-and-greet events with golf stars, Samsung Wallet is perfectly positioned to enhance your lifestyle.
