GAC's Global Expansion Takes Off: Record Overseas Exports



In a remarkable display of growth, GAC Group has reported a staggering 133.9% increase in its overseas export volumes from January to April, compared to the same period last year. With this surge, the company has not only reinforced its position in the international market but also set ambitious targets for its future.

Following an impressive 86% growth in foreign sales during the first quarter, GAC is clearly on a path of rapid global expansion. The company has reported exporting 70,474 vehicles in just four months, leading to forecasts of reaching an annual export target of 250,000 units, with an extended goal of 300,000 units.

GAC’s Key Models Making Waves


Among GAC's standout offerings, the AION UT model has solidified its reputation as a leading electric hatchback. It claims the top position in regions such as Hong Kong, Colombia, Uruguay, and Singapore, and has achieved impressive sales results in Indonesia and Thailand, solidifying its status in those markets. In Australia, the AION UT saw over 600 pre-orders in its first month of sales, further demonstrating its appeal.

Expanding Across Regions


The company's growth isn’t limited to individual models. At the renowned Bangkok International Motor Show, GAC secured 6,287 orders, reflecting a strong presence in the Asia-Pacific region. Notably, the month-on-month sales in Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Indonesia skyrocketed by 503%, 900%, and 338%, respectively. In a significant move into the European market, the AION UT debuted in Milan and began local production at Magna in Austria, marking GAC’s commitment to its motto of "In Europe, for Europe."

After just six months in Israel, the AION UT made it into the top 10 best-selling electric vehicles, demonstrating the brand's growing acceptance and popularity in different markets. Across the Americas, sales surged as well, with figures showing staggering increases in Uruguay and Colombia of 775% and 1,007%, respectively.

Strengthening the Brand through Sports and Events


GAC also plans to leverage sports marketing to bolster its international recognition. The sponsorship of top football clubs such as Flamengo in Brazil and Oriente Petrolero in Bolivia will serve to amplify GAC's brand presence as it further enters global markets.

At the recent Canton Fair, GAC garnered intent for over 900 vehicles, resulting in a substantial export value of approximately $10 million. This showcases the strength of its “Technology + Ecosystem” model in attracting international buyers. Furthermore, the GAC International Partner Conference 2026 highlighted the company’s expansive outreach, involving 700 dealers from 87 countries, which significantly strengthens its international distribution network.

As part of its long-term strategic vision, GAC unveiled plans at Auto China for 2030, which anticipates entry into 120 countries and the establishment of over 2,000 international touchpoints. Leveraging its full range of GAC, AION, and HYPTEC brands, the company aims for a staggering annual export volume of one million units.

Shifting from merely exporting products to deeply integrating within local markets globally, GAC is on the fast track towards achieving these ambitious milestones in its international sales.
