Celebrating Nature: Nagoya's 75th Higashiyama Zoo & Botanical Garden Autumn Festival

The vibrant colors of autumn bring a unique charm to the city of Nagoya, and this year, the 75th Higashiyama Zoo & Botanical Garden Autumn Festival on October 25-26 welcomed visitors to partake in exciting activities promoting wildlife conservation. Sponsored by Open House Group, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, the festival featured an engaging initiative titled "Become a Supporting Photographer! Wear Your Endangered Species Badge".

As part of their booth, Open House Nagoya branch beautifully integrated technology and creativity by allowing attendees to capture photos of endangered species within the zoo grounds. Utilizing Brother Industries' badge-making machine, participants had the opportunity to take their favorite images and, in a matter of moments, transform these snapshots into custom, wearable badges. This not only celebrated the beauty of wildlife but also encouraged a deeper connection between individuals and conservation efforts.

The badges, made from images of the participants’ most loved endangered animals, serve as a charming accessory that can be attached to bags or displayed on shelves at home, thanks to a convenient stand that comes with each badge. The joy exhibited by families as they deliberated over their favorite photos made the atmosphere lively and filled with anticipation. Watching the big smiles on children’s faces as they received their completed badges was a sight to behold.

The festival aimed to support local engagement by fostering connections between residents and the continuation of nature conservation education. Through activities like this, Open House Nagoya branch envisioned a positive impact on both the local community and the treasured environment.
