Global Produce's 2026 New Employee Induction
Global Produce, a leading event production company headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, has hosted its 2026 new employee induction ceremony at Aniversaire Omotesando on April 3, 2026. With over 200 large-scale business events produced annually, this year’s ceremony embraced a unique “coronation ceremony” concept. Each of the seven new hires received their role and responsibilities, publicly declaring their commitment within a solemn yet encouraging environment. The event also included a promotion ceremony for members in their second to fifth years, a panel discussion by the fourth-year directors, and declaration sessions from the newcomers, all aimed at reshaping the company-employee relationship.
Reasons Behind the Coronation Theme
As recruitment costs continue to reach peak levels, many businesses face significant challenges, including early turnover and decreased engagement among new graduates. According to a survey by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, around 30% of new university graduates leave their jobs within three years, showcasing the urgent need to foster a sense of belonging and responsibility among employees from the start. In light of this, Global Produce has reimagined the induction ceremony from a mere formality into a meaningful ritual, symbolizing the moment new employees accept their roles and responsibilities within the organization. By creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a royal coronation, the aim was to instill a tangible sense of belonging along with the associated responsibilities.
Despite the evolving work landscape characterized by job changes and side hustles, many young workers desire a committed relationship with their organization. Capitalizing on years of experience organizing about 100 internal events annually, Global Produce integrated these insights into their induction ceremony planning, enhancing the overall experience.
Venue Selection: Aniversaire Omotesando
The chosen venue, Aniversaire Omotesando, lies within walking distance from the company office and embodies the design concept of creating new pathways in Omotesando. This symbolism aligns perfectly with the idea of new employees starting their unique career journeys. Recently, Aniversaire has seen a shift in use from primarily wedding ceremonies to incorporating corporate events, including inductions and awards, illustrating a growing trend in repurposing wedding venues for business gatherings.
