The collaboration between
Efupiko and
Otafuku Sauce is unveiling a unique initiative aimed at educating families on the importance of food sustainability and recycling through a delightful cooking experience. The event titled
Eco-Friendly Okonomiyaki and Container Recycling Class will provide an interactive environment where participants can create their own okonomiyaki, learn valuable cooking techniques, and understand the significance of recycling food containers.
Workshop Overview
Participants will gather around a hot plate to cook one okonomiyaki each, guided by professional okonomiyaki chefs. The workshop allows families to not only enjoy the cooking process but also to savor their delicious creations as lunch. Beyond the hands-on experience, attendees will explore the history of okonomiyaki and engage in an educational segment about plastic container recycling. The program is set to take place at the Okonomiyaki Museum located in Hiroshima, ensuring a rich blend of learning and enjoyment.
Purpose of the Initiative
This program is designed to instill the significance of both food awareness and resource management in children and their families. By using accessible ingredients typically found in refrigerators, participants can take part in an eco-friendly menu that also promotes food waste reduction at home. This endeavor highlights the collaboration between Otafuku Sauce, a renowned expert in okonomiyaki, and Efupiko, a leading name in food tray and container manufacturing.

The workshop is tailored for pairs consisting of one child in their upper elementary years (grades 4, 5, or 6) and one accompanying adult.
