EVB's Award-Winning Ultra-Thin 150 kW DC Charger
EVB, a notable provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has recently announced that its ultra-slim 150 kW direct current (DC) charger has received the esteemed iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 and the Red Dot Award for Product Design 2026. These accolades celebrate the innovative merging of aesthetic industrial design, impressive technical capabilities, and practical usability that the BUDC charger offers.
Innovative Design and Functionality
With a compact profile of just 100 mm thick, the BUDC charger effectively addresses the prevalent challenge in European rapid charging projects of installing powerful charging devices in constrained spaces. Its flat design allows for both wall and built-in installations, making it ideal for urban settings, parking lots, bus depots, truck garages, and fleet management areas.
The BUDC charger can be configured with dual CCS2 connectors and is built to withstand outdoor installations, boasting an IP65 rating. Each connector delivers up to 150 kW, and its intelligent power distribution system allows it to charge two vehicles simultaneously, optimizing the available output power.
Additionally, the BUDC features a liquid cooling system and easily replaceable modules for alternating current (AC), direct current (DC), and control systems, simplifying maintenance while ensuring reliable operation.
Impact on Charging Infrastructure

In its European portfolio, EVB offers CE-marked and TÜV-certified models and configurations, ensuring compatibility with OCPP 1.6J/2.0.1 and ISO 15118 Plug & Charge protocols. Depending on the chosen model and project configuration, EVB can also provide compliance measurement according to the Measuring Instruments Directive (MID), credit or debit card payment options, and contactless payment capabilities for European charging station operators and public charging networks.
