Takanawa Gateway Station Celebrates One Year
On March 27, 2026, Takanawa Gateway Station's in-station stores, managed by JR East Cross Station Development Company, will commemorate their one-year anniversary. In celebration, a variety of special events and unique menus featuring 100% locally sourced Takanawa Honey will take place. The events will include a special menu sale and engaging, experiential activities designed to promote local attractions across Japan at the event space "Machiai."
Special Menu Highlighting Takanawa Honey
Takanawa Honey is produced from bees that thrive in the flower-rich environment surrounding the station, initiated by the Takanawa Gateway Area Management Association as part of their urban development efforts. The aim is to evoke awareness about the environment and create a charming neighborhood filled with nature.
Maison Classic Salon’s Delightful Offerings
At the Maison Classic Salon, visitors can indulge in a tea set featuring baked goods paired with fresh cheesecake made with Takanawa Honey for 1,580 yen. This set captures the seasonal essence of Takanawa Honey, harvested in spring, summer, and fall, showcasing its varying flavors and colors. The presentation includes a delightful platter of honey madeleine, fresh cheese cake, two scones, a spoonful of spring, summer, and fall honey, and a selection of domestic rhubarb jam with your choice of tea.
Maison Classic Café’s Creamy Treat
Another delightful offering at the Maison Classic Café is the Takanawa Honey & Milk Gelato priced at 680 yen. The café proudly crafts its gelato from scratch, drizzling generous amounts of spring-harvested Takanawa Honey over the creamy treat. The honey is renowned for its fragrant aroma and lingering finish, perfectly complementing the rich milkiness of the gelato.
Limited Edition Special Sales
Beginning March 28, select menu items including the Takanawa Honey madeleine and "Choux Rusks" from Maison Classic will be offered for a limited time at the 'Eki Park' inside Takanawa Gateway Station, from 12:00 to 17:00 or until sold out.
