AAM's Innovative Solutions Take Center Stage at CES 2025 in Las Vegas

AAM Returns to CES 2025

American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) will once again be part of the highly anticipated Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2025, marking its third consecutive year participating in this significant global tech event. From January 7-10, 2025, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, AAM will spotlight an extensive range of driveline and powertrain technologies designed to cater to the evolving automotive landscape, including solutions for electric, hybrid, and traditional internal combustion vehicles.

With a firm commitment to enhancing electric mobility, AAM has positioned itself as a leader in the automotive sector, continually innovating to support the shift towards electrification. This year’s theme at the AAM booth will focus heavily on their advanced driveline technologies, including a variety of interactive exhibits and demonstration vehicles, created in collaboration with different OEM partners.

Hybrid and Electric Drive Technologies
Notably, AAM plans to showcase its cutting-edge propulsion systems crafted specifically for hybrid and fully electric powertrains. Among the highlights will be the Mercedes AMG GT 63 S E Performance sedan, which incorporates AAM's award-winning hybrid Electric Drive Unit (EDU) capable of generating a power output of 150 kW (204 hp).

Exploring e-Beam Technology
One of the standout innovations to be featured at CES is AAM's unique 3-in-1 e-Beam technology, showcased on a specially designed battery electric light-duty truck. Built entirely by AAM engineers from an existing internal combustion engine platform, this truck showcases a single Electric Drive Unit (EDU) producing 150 kW (204 hp) for the front wheels, complemented by a robust 425 kW (570 hp) e-Beam driving the rear. Interactive displays will feature cross-sectioned models of the heavy-duty 3-in-1 and light-duty 2-in-1 e-Beam configurations, giving attendees an in-depth look at the mechanics that enable these sophisticated vehicles.

Component Innovations
Beyond their propulsion systems, AAM will present a comprehensive lineup of new and refined components. Attendees can expect to see rotor shafts, park lock actuators, output shafts, and advanced differentials among other parts. A special highlight will be the SmartBar, a disconnecting stabilizer bar that illustrates its advantages for off-road driving. Furthermore, AAM's traditional components for internal combustion engine vehicles have been innovatively upgraded to include the latest in electronic features, sensors, and software, exemplifying the company's adaptability in a fast-evolving industry.

AAM at CES: A Future-Focused Commitment
The AAM exhibit can be found in the West Hall (#6100) of the Las Vegas Convention Center, where experts from the company will be available to discuss their dedication to innovation and sustainability. This year's CES serves as a crucial platform for AAM to interact with industry peers and showcase their diverse product offerings that respond to the shifts within the global automotive market, notably towards electrified propulsion systems, which encompass hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and fully battery-electric solutions.

AAM remains committed to playing a pivotal role in the automotive industry's transformation towards sustainable practices while anticipating the automotive needs of tomorrow. For more details about AAM and its product lines, visit their website at aam.com.
