Get ready for an enchanting winter as Tachikawa prepares for the ''2025 Tachikawa Illuminations,” a stunning display that promises to light up the city with approximately 600,000 dazzling bulbs. Managed by the Tachikita Area Management organization, this year's festival will take place along the Sun Sun Road near JR Tachikawa Station, transforming the streets into a mesmerizing visual feast.

Event Highlights

The illuminations will kick off on November 1, 2025, with a special lighting ceremony featuring the latest group from Hello! Project, Rosy Chronicle. The event captures local culture and excitement, making it a perfect experience for all ages. This new group has been actively engaging with Tachikawa, as they perform the theme song for the ongoing anime series Kaiju Sekai Seifuku.

On the opening night, attendees will be treated to a variety of performances, including a mini-concert by Rosy Chronicle, and character greetings involving beloved local mascots. This evening will set the stage for the festive season, providing unforgettable memories for residents and visitors alike.

About the Illumination

Winding for about 550 meters, the keyaki tree-lined path will be adorned with a spectacular array of lights, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that beckons visitors to wander through its glow. Key features include:

• - Illumination Nodes: Illuminated arches that symbolize the spirit of winter in Tachikawa.
• - Ground Lighting: Beautiful light patterns will dance along the ground, adding an extra layer of magic to your walk down Sun Sun Road.

This year, a highlight will be the Tachikawa Winter Market in December, where attendees can enjoy local foods and unique shops, as well as a music stage that harmonizes the beauty of light and sound for a whimsical winter experience.

Founded in November 2021, the Tachikita Area Management organization focuses on revitalizing the north area around JR Tachikawa station. Its initiatives promote community engagement and address local challenges, aiming to create a vibrant urban atmosphere. In September 2024, it officially became a general incorporated association, committed to working alongside local businesses and public entities for a prosperous Tachikawa.

The illuminations, supported by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau, highlight the collaborative efforts to foster tourism and community spirit even during the colder months.
