Boca West Children's Foundation Brings Holiday Cheer
Every year, the Boca West Children's Foundation (BWCF) dedicates itself to uplifting the spirits of local children, especially during the holiday season. In its 15th annual event, the foundation hosted a delightful gathering on December 15, 2024, ensuring that 150 underprivileged youth from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boca Raton and Delray Beach were able to celebrate the holidays in style.
A Shopping Spree Like No Other
With the generous assistance of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, each child received $75 to shop for new clothing at Old Navy. Volunteers from BWCF were on hand to assist the children, turning the shopping spree into an unforgettable experience. The joy on their faces as they picked out clothes was a testament to the holiday spirit that enveloped them.
Celebratory Brunch and Entertainment
After the shopping, the children were invited to the Boca West Country Club for a memorable brunch, featuring live music and entertainment that included a magician and therapy dogs provided by the PBSO and Semper Fi. This vibrant atmosphere was further enhanced by professional photography, allowing families to capture these special moments. Each child also left with a harvest basket, a cuddly Squishmallow donated by Jazwares, and a special holiday gift.
Pamela Weinroth, the executive director of the Boca West Children's Foundation, reflected on the event’s meaning:
"This event exemplifies what the holiday season is about — bringing joy and hope to children. We are grateful to our community partners and volunteers who helped make this event special for kids who may not otherwise get to celebrate the holidays."
Community Collaboration for a Greater Cause
The success of this celebration was not merely down to the efforts of the BWCF; it highlighted the power of community collaboration. Jaene Miranda, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County, praised the foundation’s initiative, saying,
"This celebration shines a light on the power of our community coming together. When organizations like Boca West Children's Foundation invest in the next generation's future, we help them grow into confident leaders and shape brighter futures across Palm Beach County."
Since its founding in 2010, Boca West Children's Foundation has focused on supporting at-risk children and their families, partnering with local nonprofits to address needs such as abuse, neglect, and hunger. The foundation, thanks to the generosity of its donors, has made a significant impact, donating over $19 million to local causes.
