Reser's Fine Foods Celebrates Creativity in Music
In a festive celebration of its 75th anniversary, Reser's Fine Foods, Inc., a recognized leader in refrigerated prepared foods, recently announced the winners of its inaugural Good Times Jingle competition. This event, inspired by the company's commitment to creativity and community, was open to collegiate a capella groups across the United States.
Among the four victorious teams, the University of Virginia's Hullabahoos stood out with their delightful and original acapella jingle that encapsulated the spirit of Reser's brand. The submission was praised not only for its catchy tune but also for its vibrant energy that resonated with Reser's mission of good food and good times.
As the grand prize winners, the Hullabahoos received $25,000 in prize money to enhance their music program, as well as up to $20,000 to cover travel expenses for a special performance at the prestigious Patricia Reser Center for the Arts in Beaverton, Oregon. This recognition highlights Reser's dedication to supporting the arts and the educational growth of its community.
Patricia Reser, board chair of Reser's Fine Foods, shared her enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled to support the arts through this unique program. Our family's passion for education and the arts is longstanding, and it was an honor to be part of the judging committee. The submissions we received brilliantly captured the essence of the good times that we have shared with fans of our delicious foods for the past 75 years."
Teddy Price, a member of the Hullabahoos, reflected on the creative process: "This competition pushed our artistic boundaries and showcased the joy of collaboration. We are proud to see our jingle shared with the world!"
Former president of the Hullabahoos, Nick Chu, expressed the group’s commitment to future generations by announcing plans to use part of their winnings to establish an endowment fund. This initiative aims to secure the financial future of the ensemble, allowing future Hullabahoos to continue creating memorable experiences through music.
The competition also recognized other remarkable acapella groups: No Comment A Cappella from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign secured second place and received a cash prize of $15,000. Dartmouth College's The Dartmouth Aires placed third with a $10,000 prize, and Pitch, Please! from Northeastern University came in fourth, earning $5,000. The distinguished panel of judges included notable figures such as Michael Allen Harrison, a renowned American composer and musician, and Greg Tamblyn, an award-winning vocalist and humorist, among others. Together, they selected the winners based on originality, creativity, and how well the jingles represented the Reser's brand.
